Scott Summers: Cyclops Appreciation 2019

With them describing X-Men as an all-encompassing book at the SDCC panel, it's possible the premise will be Cyclops hand-picking a new and different team every arc based on the needs of whatever mission comes up. Kind of like Doctor Strange's Defenders or Misty Knight's Heroes for Hire.

Interesting how his hand-picked squad is literally his family (plus Wolverine). Lol, I'd say nepotism if not for the fact that the Summers-Grey family vastly overpowers 99% of all mutants.

I bet the first arc is the Summers/Grey family reunion and then after that Scott and Rachel stay on the core X-Men team. I think since Jean, Logan, and WiFi are all on other teams, that they are probably on the core X-Men as part of the first arc. Of course Wolverine will still be on 1000 books so he will probably be a regular on both teams.

I like the idea of Scott and Rachel on a dedicated team long term. This gives me the same feels as the Blue/Gold crossover where Rachel called Tyke dad in the field all the time. I would love to see that regularly, "Rachel how many times do I have to tell you to use codenames in the field, wait till we are back at base to call me Dad!"

I think this whole future is going to be great for Scott, Jean, and Rachel. I am not sure where WiFi fits exactly, technically to protect the timeline he has to go back to the future eventually. He still hasn't gotten married and had his son yet, unless him and his girlfriend had a quickie before he travelled back in time with X-Force. Still I am going to be happy to see the whole Summers/Grey family united. This cover gave me serious "core family of X" feels.

Well I think I figured who is going to be my Ed and third member of the villain AU Xmen trio. The answer was right in front of me, who do you not imagine laughing a lot or smiling a lot? I think Mr. Shucks would be a good name for him. I started sketching him last night. At first I thought of giving him a cowl but I like most of you like his hair to be free so think I’m going to have his hair free and have any animal characteristics be more of a lovecraftian. I started to do a sketch of him and I think eventually I’ll do one with all three chilling together. I think I’m going to go with a Alskan wild man kind of thing with him. Essentially he’s a experiment gone wrong or one who had results that weren’t expected. I’m now also thinking before this he was a version of Scott that managed to escape into the Alaskan wilderness and that grew up fending for himself. I like the idea of him writing things on a small hand held chalkboard. I have one question though is the Phoenix multiversal? If you guys want I can post the initial sketch I made last night? I think I’m going to play with the design more though.

X-Force is supposed to be an extention of the main X-men, acting like a security force, and Jean is with Sage and Beast on intelligence, so I don't think her being on two teams would clash much, and Logan of course stole Droopy's power and can be everywhere at once.
I'm hopeful Hickman can sell WiFi better and give it a real place and purpose
