It was a good use of the phrase, when you consider the context. Still, I wish it were better used in the X-books.

It does look like they are their own government so they have an island or a base of operations someplace that they are able to defend and they bring other mutants in via the Marauders. So if X dies in the event, there is probably some ruling by council going on and the X-Men may be the defense/military arm of the new Nation and Scott is running that side of things. Beast, Jean, and Logan are running the secret service. Kitty, Storm, and Emma are running the mutant underground railroad to help people get to the new Nation from outside.

I know the X-Men are going to rotate, but I really hope Scott and Rachel stay together long term. My hope is that Rachel is his regular team telepath and Jean rotates out every other mission or so when she does X-Force missions. This way Rachel gets to be on a regular team with one of her parents, but still gets to interact with Jean too whenever Jean comes on a mission with them.

I think they could have lots of fun with Scott and Rachel on the same team for a long time. Rachel calling him Dad when things are serious, Scott being an overprotective father if she gets hurt in the field and going all rage Dad on whoever hurt his little girl. I think it would be a good fun dynamic to have, plus it keeps it from becoming a new Rightclops era because Rachel is there to make it feel more like a family dynamic.

I think it's telling that the first arc is a Summers/Grey family arc, which tells me that the Summers/Grey family are going to be presented as one of the core parts of the X-Men going forward. Hopefully this sets the tone for interactions between X-Men, X-Force, and Fallen Angels based on the family members crossing over into each other's books.
OR Rachel goes Rage-Daughter when Scott get hurts. I’d happily read either one, so count me in on Scott and Rachel as the permanent team-members.

With the way X-Force ended I think maybe Rachel is going to have some anger management issues so her Dad may have to keep an eye on her so she doesn't start outright killing enemies.

The flip side is that a war cry that never gets used has no power at all. Use it sparingly, build up to it properly, and things should be good.

Right? I mean, some whackjob got himself killed/tortured and used his powers as a portable WMD and literal beacon/rallying point to make it happen. Just standing/floating around and (maybe) fistpumping dramatically just doesn't cut it anymore.

What I wouldn’t give if it could somehow be adapted in the films.

He is not rightclops anymore but I don't think he can ever be a full boyscout now.
i want him to want to fade in to the background, after all that they've been through. kind of like ned stark after rob baratheon became king. he just wants to oversee his own land/family and have this realization that maybe he's been giving it all his entire life, and he's given so much, maybe it's time for others to lead. but whenever the current leader calls upon him, he answers. id want him to be the one to be the one to remind anyone who leads and point out their mistakes and remind him that he went that route and the end doesnt justifies the means.

and then be like jon snow who constantly keeps turning around the tide in favor of the x-men during events, but still shirks the idea of becoming leader.

up until he needs to kill the current leader of the x-men who becomes evil. and then he bows out of the spotlight again.

and then the x-men screws up the timeline, and he needs to come back and leads the summers rebellion.

I am really feeling Cyke's new costume. I was a fan of the revolution costume so it's nice a lot of that design carries over to this one. I think the Astonishing costume is the definitive look for Cyclops but this new costume is really looking good
