Not surprised. The Spider-Titles hardly ever have anything to do with each other. Although I kind of think Peter and Miles' books benefit from just not acknowledging each other. (I wonder how many people look at Miles now and expect him to still have taken over from a dead Spider-Man he's not currently co-existing in the same universe with?).

This is only the second issue, and it has Peter telling Miles he's Spider-Man after spotting him using his powers.

Check that last page again. Peter has figured out that Miles has the same powers he has - it's Peter telling Miles that he knows he's a Spider-Man, not that he himself is Spider-Man. Miles's response indicates that he knows why Peter knows - because he's the other Spider-Man. Peter isn't telling Miles that he's Spidey - they've both figured out each other is Spidey!

Really interested how this mini is going to pan out. WoTR has quite a few interesting tie-ins going on.

Based on the interviews with the McElroys, Balder originally came to earth to recruit Spider-Man (Pete), Hawkeye (Clint), and Deathlok, but there ended up being a mix up and he ended up recruiting their successors instead. :P

You're right, we'll be getting Journey Into Mystery, followed by the solo and Shuri, and ending the month with Marvel Rising. And there will be even more in May with Miles appearing in at least seven books.
