The costume looks kind off to me with the art.

"Younger, flashier version of me"? Sounds like she was complimenting Nadia there - and snarking about herself being the old, obsolete version. And don't forget, Nadia was on the Avengers roster immediately before the current one, so it's not like calling in the younger Wasp would've been unexpected. Janet's asking why they called her and not her adopted daughter. The reason, presumably, is experience, considering T'Challa's comment about Janet being "someone who has been there since the beginning".

Do Jan fans have lengthy talks about her fashion career? I've read one site that trashed her designs for Wonder Man right before that symbiote affair.

I guess the phrasing just sounds a little more...bitter, then I think Jan would be or probably what the writing was going for.
