Definitely some good news. Lets see if a new writer can get it right, imo. Young was another Way + Bendis from what little I saw.

I have really, really enjoyed this series, but it just feels rather directionless. It would be good if it involved itself more with either the Avengers or X-Men.

My favorite run on Deadpool was the Gail Simone/UDON run, especially when Taskmaster was brought in to be "bosom buddies" with Deadpool.

The thread was made on 4 January, it's just that nobody replied for six weeks. Shows how unpopular his current book is, IMHO.

As for a new writer, they could do worse than give it to Robbie Thompson, who's currently on Spider-Man/Deadpool.

Well CC already loaded all we need to know of back issues and such.

For a new writer, what kind of themes or adventures would you like Wade to go on?

I'd like a mini-series that draws on Wade's more serious side.

I think anything after Duggan's run was going to have an uphill battle. Duggan's DP is, for my money, one of the great comic runs.

Still, even without directly comparing it to Duggan, Young's DP has been pretty lackluster. I've warmed up to it more as it's gone on and I like that it's old-school in focusing on one and done stories for the most part but I don't think it has the juice that this book needs.

No idea who I'd want to come on as the next writer but I do think that a shake-up, sooner rather than later, is necessary.

Cullen Bunn does well with characters who are supposed to be gritty. I say bring him on. Least he'd be writing 1 of my favs. again & there'd be some hope for me enjoying something. lol

Check out Deadpool: Assassin by Cullen Bunn

This is the longest I've gone in my comic-reading-history without reading a Deadpool book. I don't like it. But as mentioned above, Young's book felt so directionless. Just a series of looney tune one offs.

I would like Wade to get some of his memories back and deal with what happened to him, maybe.

Yeah, actually Bunn would be a perfect choice.

He's been doing great work with DP forever in various minis and the Deadpool: Assassin mini that came out at the same time Young's run debuted was much better than the main book.

I wonder if he'd say yes, though, if it were offered to him. I have to imagine he felt slighted that they didn't automatically give him the gig when Duggan left.

Bunn gets the short end a lot. His books are consistent and enjoyable, but the man sort of gets stuck what leftovers.
