They sort of did have an HQ; They just hung out at Cho's house and they had the flying bunker (which is destroyed now). Plus since the team is mostly teenager's living with their parents they don't really need a base where they stay at all the time.

The Bunker is parked in Vision's garden, with the intent of it being repaired. It's badly damaged, but not destroyed.

Why did the Champions never get a real HQ?

Zub did eventually give them the mobile Bunker, as mentioned, and I recall reading somewhere that Zub had plans to eventually introduce a more "typical" HQ for the expanded crew down the pipeline. But alas...

I liked the last issue. Obviously it would have been preferable if this series could have continued on and Zub could have followed through on all of his plans but for an abrupt wrap-up to the series, this was as elegant a goodbye as anyone could have managed. Sucks that more readers didn't support this book but thems the breaks, sadly. Curious to see what the next step for The Champions is going to be. Wonder if we'll find out in NYCC or if we'll have to wait till 2020.

Bleeding Cool has posted a pic from NYCC showing that Marvel will be announcing five #1s over the weekend, which will launch in January. I think those are probably Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 2020, Masked Raider, and the new teen book (Champions, or if an earlier BC story is to be believed, Young Avengers).

A casting call for Wandavision is asking for male and female babies. If one of the babies is a girl, that probably means Viv is getting added to the MCU (along with Wiccan - sorry, Speed fans).
