Just another excuse for more character assassination. If this keeps up, the only teenage heroes left will be Damian's team and YJ.

Tbf, being 'infected' at least means they didn't chose it. I'd be more worried that there's no cure/they can't be saved, and the only 'solution' is to mercy kill or something.

Either way, the writers will probably milk whatever bad thing they do while infected as a way to give them unnecessary angst and derail them further.

Mercy kill feels like something DC would do, since it gets rid of an unwanted character and gives the one who did the mercy kill more angst.

Sounds more like being swapped out for an AU version... it's similar to when Spider-Woman was a Skrull, the heroes are being impersonated.

I would prefer that, but in the official announcement for the Batman/Superman book, that doesn't seem to be quite what it is:

Raven, Terra, Starfire, Cyborg and Tempest haven't been derailed yet.There's also Rose, Jericho(allegedly Luthor is making him an offer in the upcoming months),Blue Beetle, YJ cast and Damian's team.Everyone else is either dead, derailed or in limbo.

DC really should just put all these characters on their own Earth or something. Their mistreatment is just depressing at this point.

Jason Todd too (brief as his stint as Robin was, he was a brief member of the Titans). And Luthor is supposed to be offering him as well. Though unlike most others, the Outlaws actually have a history with him.

Dick is way too popular to kill off.Donna is another story.Writer's seem to avoid using her because of her convoluted backstory and the ones who do use her make Donna's backstory even more convoluted. She's in a no win situation.

If Dick is not too popular to turn into a hobo sidekick, he's not too popular to kill off. Death would be a reprieve for Dick right now.
