Default IMPERIUS REX! Namor the Sub-Mariner Appreciation 2019

Welcome to a thread for appreciating Marvel's FIRST Superhero!

He has a perspective on scale that these guys don't," Fraction explained. "Namor has been wrapped up in some awful big stuff that the other people haven't. He's going to be sort of like Alexander with the Gordian Knot; he's the shortest path between two points because he's got this very practical experience with realpolitick that the rest of them don't have."

Ruling Atlantis, one of the oldest kingdoms in the Marvel Universe, gives Namor other benefits as well, including access to some of the kingdom's rare historical documents that offer up information on what life on Earth was like thousands of years ago.

"Namor has access to all this stuff that humans don't and can go places they can't go. He's forgotten more things than we'll ever know," Fraction remarked. "Plus, he has his foot in so many different worlds. His unique biology as an early mutant led to his membership in the X-Men. He covers both the mutant base and the Atlantean base -- not to mention he's very well connected, having been a member or so many other super teams."

The Sub-Mariner is a very passionate and proud individual, character traits that often lead to interesting dynamics in the super teams he joins. One thing Namor is especially passionate about is strong women.

Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

    Happy New Years, fellow Atlanteans!

Definitely hoping for many good, good things for our Prince this year.

Been busy with some housekeeping here, and have some holiday stuff to do, so I'll have to check in later. Have a lot of ideas and things I'd like to do this year, too.

This thread is going to stars and beyond! Wait, should that be undiscovered depths of Abyssal Plains?

I love this cover! I need to find out if it was one of the expensive variants. I hope we see some more Namor covers by Chris Stevens. I wonder if he's a fan, or if he was just given the assignment?

Give me a moment while I sit here and absorb the glory of Bill Everett Sub-Mariner.

Wait. That's what's missing from the first post. Will rectify this shortly.

80 Years! Marvel needs to do something for Namor this year. Specifically Namor. Not lumped in with the 80th Year Marvel Anniversary.

I'm starting on the Namor80 Celebration Threads with a reboot, I hope, of the 365 Days of Namor Thread! Been planning to do so anyway, but when I opened my Page A Day Marvel calendar, I was quite disappointed to find it's almost all the MCU/TV characters, and not the deep dive into Marvel history and catalog of characters that I hoped it would be. IOW, no Namor!

So, back to our homemade Page A Day thread.

Wait. That's what's missing from the first post. Will rectify this shortly.

80 Years! Marvel needs to do something for Namor this year. Specifically Namor. Not lumped in with the 80th Year Marvel Anniversary.
I love this art a lot and Everett's Namor is the best! I really hope Marvel does something for Everett and of course Namor for the 80th! I'm hoping we get an anniversary solo comic or *fingers crossed* a Namor ongoing solo comic! (Please Marvel give him something that lasts a few years!)
