Margali Szardos, depending on where she’s at on the Winding Way. Agatha Harkness, Morgan Le Fay, Satana, Damion Hellstrom just to name a few.

Did anyone get the new Dr. Strange? Was it any good?
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. On the one hand, the "downtime" scenes are excellent, and the new supporting cast members are fun.

I'm afraid to ask about the butt kicking.

I guess it is back to trade waiting. Maybe.

    spoilers:
The Wrecker has received some sort of power-up, which is almost certainly a plot point. But it's still a bit disconcerting to see Strange manhandled like that.

Yes, it was. Waid's previous run was rock solid and this looks to be every bit as good.

It's certainly in a different vein than the previous run, more grounded in the every day with Strange's work at the hospital, but it has a lot of obvious potential.

The so-called butt kicking is explained through a plot point. Strange is taken off-guard when a foe displays a new level of ability that Strange would have had no way of knowing about until he fought this person and their new levels revealed themselves. It's hardly anything that makes Strange look ineffectual. Heroes do often have to lose the occasional fight in order to generate a certain level of suspense in a story.

Give this issue a shot, it's a promising start to the new volume.

In agreement with DigiCom, in that I, too, am not so solidly sure about this first new first issue. Surgeon scenes are good, if a bit unbelievable given my hospital experiences in terms of what and how much he handles there, and when he has the time... This first issue has a great first page, but after that it doesn't impress me the way memory would have me believe his previous first issue Impressed Me. Still, yeah, still a better Dr. Strange than the decade before-Waid, and glad I got the issue.

At least he hasn't been depowered... for Stephen, that's a novelty. :/

Thought it was better than the previous #1, but the new status quo still needs more time to settle before I decide on what to think of it. All in all, a good set up issue and a jumping on point. Art was better than I expected too.

Honestly the idea of giving Strange a day job (job in general) was just genius hopefully that gives him the longevity a Strange series should have.

How many times have someone from The Wrecking Crew been in an issue 1 comic? I feel like it’s pretty common, not complaining though.

Fairly often, but not excessively so:
