I can remember buying that second one on the news stand. Great stuff!
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

Most recent issue of Doctor Strange is probably one of my favorite single issues. It was a fun read from start to end.

I have to give Waid (who I've run hot & cold on in the past) credit for one simple question:

"Why does Stephen Strange always use spells and artifacts created by someone else?"

I confess, my jaw dropped when I read that. It simply never occurred to me to ask.

Is that what his new run is about?

Why would he? Why would he reinvent the wheel, for magic?

I wouldn't say that's what his run is "about" per se. It was a minor plot point at best. But it was an interesting comment...

Here, here's the page in question:

    Thanks for that page!

Well, if we are to believe Aaron, the answer to the Weaponsmith's question, is that it COSTS TOO MUCH to make your own magic tools. NOT that Dr. Strange didn't think of it. While I don't agree with Aaron's take on Strange, in this case, creating powerful magical artifacts, it has to cost something, AND you have to have skills honed through decades of study and practice, otherwise any yahoo would be doing it. It's easier to use other, pre-paid tools to get to a result. Again, why re-make the wheel?

You mean, skills like a Sorcerer Supreme?

And as for re-making the wheel... Ask Tony Stark.

Of course. But that's a full time job. It's probably WHY he hasn't had time to make artifacts, right? Maybe? LOL!

I like this one, you could get away with wearing it too work ... but I really like the old one, from the comics.

I think I like these best for a costume. They are a bit creepy.

    Hehehe...cool and creepy, lol!

I didn't know these existed! While good to wear, not sure about work. You know how some uneducated person (but think they are all-that) may mistake the "eye" (ball) for the evil eye, lol.
