I had hoped to commission a piece from Kevin, but he was booked solid for the whole con.

That sounds like a great con. Both P. Craig Russell AND Kevin Nowlan. Two of my favorite artists.

Wow. I can't believe you've managed to keep that poster intact since high school. Congrats!

Yes, I've found for the more well known artists, you almost have to contact the artists before the con for a pre-con commission. I've gone into shows as soon as they opened, and some artists already have their commission lists filled!
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

Wow, nice poster! That and the first pic I love--very reminiscent of very good 1970's style Dr Strange drawings! Both are great.

Hey, is that you a-peeking from behind that poster, lol?

Yeah I was holding up the pic while my wife took the pic after the show.

Marvel.com has this list / article in 'preparation' for the new issue this week.

5 Times Doctor Strange Had to Fight Without Magic

Two times in the silver / bronze age, and three times (now four?) in the modern times. Hmmmmm.

That's a beautiful poster. I have that P. Craig Russel story. It's very cool that you got his autograph.

I remember him decking some unsuspecting foe with a punch many times in the older stories, but I suppose that doesn't count as "had to"

    Looking at the examples given:

    1. He wasn't depowered, he merely lacked some of his tools. "No Cloak" does not mean "no magic".
    2. The same, really. It was a question of confidence, not ability. And this also leans on the "Strange has no powers without his artifacts" line.
    3. This counts as an example, as so many of his spells include a gestural component.
    4. "No Eye" doesn't mean "no magic" either, despite what Bendis wanted folks to believe.
    5. Not the best example, either.

The wildest part is, that there's actually an example of Doc fighting without powers in THE OATH, which is a much better story than the more recent examples.

Yeah, it's weird they didn't add the scene from the oath, but oh well

Yes! I have not seen you--er, I mean Clea-- for a long time! Where have you been?

The above shows Clea as strong and beautiful.

Very nice! And I of course, like Clea as well and love her updated costume. However, I am not a fan of tiny lip beards, lol.

It's nice to see them bringing back Clea and she looks great .

I hope Waid writes her well and doesn't go for the low-blow of her relationship with Stephen that most writers seem to harp on.
