Given that Carnage was harvesting remnants from the spines of former hosts, body horror is a good thought.

    But yeah, it'll probably be a kill/resurrection.

Immortal Hulk#23 was yet another great story in this run.
Looking forward to the Leader by Al Ewing and Joe Bennet to return in the stories.

    Incredible Hulk #269
    Cover Date: March 1982
    Sale Date: December 8th, 1981
    Writer: Bill Mantlo
    Artist: Sal Buscema
    Letterer: Rick Parker
    Colorist: Bob Sharen
    Editor: Al Milgrom

    “Enter: The Hulk Hunters!”

Guest Stars/Supporting Cast: Bereet, Betty Ross, Rick Jones, Empress Daydra
Antagonists: The Hulk-Hunters; Amphibion, Torgo and Dark Crawler
Synopsis: Open to the Krylorian alien Bereet contemplating her life on Krylor as a techno-art director and the “stories” the public has seen and raved about. She decides to ignore “Entertainment Code XV-III” and heads for Earth in hopes of meeting the Hulk in person. In the New Mexico desert, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross get into a passionate discussion about Banner’s condition, while Rick Jones becomes more and more enamored with the idea of a Hulk controlled by Banner’s brain. High above in the upper reaches of the Earth’s atmosphere, three objects are launched from a spaceship and zero in on Banner’s location. They are Amphibion, Torgo and Dark Crawler…and they identify themselves as the Hulk-Hunters. Rick and Betty argue while Banner transforms into the Hulk. Rick thinks that the Hulk is outnumbered and heads back into the lab. Betty watches the battle as long as she can stand, and then follows. To her horror, Rick has locked himself in the lab and activated the Gamma Projector. Outside, the Hulk-Hunters have decided they are outmatched and summon the one who sent them on their mission; the Empress Daydra. The Hulk remembers her from the events way back in Hulk #112 and agrees to help destroy the Galaxy Master. As the beam aboard the spaceship, Rick is bombarded with the Gamma Projector….

Commentary: The start of a storyline that will change the life of the Hulk forever. Mantlo also retcons the stories that were told in the first 9 issues of the Hulk Magazine as movies created by Bereet. No big loss there…

So have we figured out why #24 and #25 are getting delayed? I've been running with Joe being on a new run of Shazam, which is evident with IH #25 being 90% done by a new artist.

Whatever the reason for it is, it's the same for a bunch of other Marvel books, King Thor for instance got delayed 2 weeks and a few other books, so it seems to be something not specific to Immortal Hulk.

Correct. Ewing even mentioned something like that on Twitter. It'll certainly return to its usual schedule with the next issues.

Could be feedback from retailers unable to keep up with all the books double shipping, events, incentive orders, etc.

Talked to Joe Bennett. Issues 24 and 25 were moved because Ewing took more time to write them; 25 being the main reason. The art isn't the problem.

Everything will be back to normal with the following issues.

    Hello all
Does anyone know if Peter David’s (Incredible Hulk One Shot:Last Call) has/is/will be collected in trade or hard cover? Or released as part of a future hulk related trade collection?
Has it been released other than its original floppy one shot format?

I just read issue #23 and I enjoyed it. I like Fortean as the main antagonist and seeing him in the Abomination suit. I'm looking forward to the next issue.
We are the Dora Milaje. We are the daughters of the 18 tribes of Wakanda. We are the teeth of the Panther God. Out of 10,000 years of sweat and bloodshed and battle are we born. We are the women of this ancient land. Deadliest of the species. And our time has come!

I wouldn't count on the Last Call (or any of the recent Hulk one-shots that've been released by different creators) being sold in anything besides the floppy, except maybe new Hulk omnibus in the far future.

Excellent article about the horror movies and the scenes that inspired Joe Bennett for the Immortal Hulk. It's from a brazilian blog, but the texts are simple and the pics basically tell the story.

Bereet was an interesting character. She even made it into the MCU, although as a bit of a joke.
