Into the Beetleverse

LOL great sketch! pretty much without even trying (they don't have to invent them_) , the Beetle-Verse (if we can call it that) already has the foundation for a Spider-Verse-like set-up.
Just threw out the same premise in the Warner Animation answer to the Spider-Verse thread.

They just need to add to that charming sketch, a pulp-noir era Dan Garret in a fedora and Beetle Goggles, holding his retired police revolver in one hand, and archaeology digs and scarab in the other.



As is, those three together should be the foundation of a Warner Animation Legacy-Beetle-Verse, CG Cartoon movie:

Animated Legacy Blue Beetle - Dan Garret - Ted Kord - Jaime Reyes, could easily be DC/WB answer to Morales and the Spider-Verse.

Also instead of pulling them from other dimensions, you actually have the alt Beetles in universe, as mentors and allies.
Obviously the Pupl era Dan Garret who first uncovered the scarab in the Golden Age, has been keeping it out of enemy hands since. And the classic silver-agey Ted Kord, self made hero (has the classic lair, vehicles, gadgets, of his own design, (today a bit out of shape), but in mentoring the new kid rediscovers his own purpose, etc.
And of course the new kid, whose ultimately got to find his own way into the power and hero-identity, to make it his own.

As to a distaff female Blue Beetle, i'm surprised DC never churned one up, I'd actually rather they don't, and use someone with their own identity, like one of La Damma's "agents" friend to Jaime, who is unknowingly serving her interest, then discovers her own role (and Identity) as an ally to Blue Beetle.

AFAIK, they've never done a female Blue Beetle, but the Red Beetle (Sara Butters) that appeared with the JSA for about half-a-dozen issues shortly before Flashpoint was clearly a homage to Kord.

Not to take anything away from the Blue & Gold era fans (who are in the majority). But this ^ is my Ted Kord Blue Beetle, not the Bwaha JLE one.
Finally teamed again with the classic Charlton Sentinels.

- batgirl one punches beetle. thugs and goons can take hits better than beetle i guess. (now i know how guy feels). a punch that knocks out a person may lead to a concussion, it's a good thing that doesn't happen in comic books.

- the bugs operating system is tied to beetles consciousness??? why?

- without the shield, booster is no match for harley? and booster couldn't hit harley back?

- and let's assume harley was just joking, it's ok for batgirl to risk harley being actually able to kill booster? or batgirl is fine with hurting beetle and booster?

well, the issue was.... i'm not sure what exactly happened. my consolation was i got to see ted and booster appear in a book together.

just got to say that in spite of the threats, broken nose, and almost getting stabbed to death, beetle and booster were awfully forgiving here.
