Why would they waste time putting him in the pod when they already had the neck collar on him,they could have easily just chained him to a chair and he wouldn't have got away.

There was time we didnt see from the time they got both SB and brion and when brion was tarred.

It's not "wasted", it's called building tension. It's like whenever a hero is chained to a trap or something.

I'm not saying it's not possible but it seems unlikely.

Pod suggests experimentation. Chair suggests torture. Bench can be both.
