I like that we're finally seeing some of the hinted at "living continuity re-writes" happening to Gemworld, and the tag for the next issue promises we'll get some answers to the whole Crisis aspect of this run. And I still frankly think chasing down Crisis stuff tracks fine with Tim's mission statement after Tynion's Detective run and his encounters with Oz and Brother Eye and alt-continuity jams. Hopefully that means this title brings Spoiler in at some point.
But beyond that ... I'm cool with Ginny Hex and I'm cool with Teen Lantern - they'll have to do some stuff to impress and really become naturals in the group dynamic. But damn if Amethyst wasn't the perfect other character to join the big four here. The kind of 18-year-old freshmen superhero team is a perfect fit for her.
Retro315 no more. Anonymity is so 2005.

I like that Bart is asking all of the right questions.
This is the first issue of YJ that I read in more than 3 minutes.
Finally I'm starting to see something interesting, Bendis has to explain a lot of things tough.
Gemworld is rather boring to digest but Amethyst is growing in me.
The hug
Bendis seems to write Bart not too silly or annoying and that's the hard part on him. Good job.
I'm still waiting to see how Cassie reacts to Conner's news.
Well bendis cleaned that up for the most part, and is moving on to kingdom come now I guess, I think this 1st arc will read better in trade format, but it wasn't that bad as a monthly, and a month is a long time folks.
All the characters have purpose and their own characteristics and personality which is good.
The team has a purpose, and a cool present direction
The characters are written in character(ty bendis.... Wow I wrote that lol)
Can't wait to see what's next
When's the cartoon restarting again? It's been months now!
