Doug looks like Donald Blake in those panels, man.
"Cable was right!"
New Mutants #14 Apr 1984
First appearance of Illyana Rasputin as Magik in "Do You Believe In -- Magik?"
It snows, and the New Mutants decide to give Professor X a party.
Illyana goes with them to shop, and the New Mutants discover its her birthday.
Back at the mansion, S'ym attacks Professor X.
The New Mutants get back, and Illyana goes to scout the mansion to see
if the Professor is around since he can't read her mind. S'ym ambushes her
and she teleports the rest of the team through Limbo to the living room (car included).
The New Mutants fight S'ym, and Illyana ultimately defeats him and he swears allegiance to her.
The X-Men come back for the party, and to see the new living room volcano!
We discover Professor X's legs are fully healed,
and Doug Ramsey has been accepted to Emma Frost's Massachusetts Academy.
Script by Chris Claremont, pencils by Sal Buscema, inks by Tom Mandrake
I essentially stopped reading New Mutants and X-Men after Chris Claremont left so I didn't read that issue.
Later writers usually tend to ignore any power change/enhancement after Chris Claremont's original power set.
It seems this isn't the case with Dani but Rosenberg should have explained and not assume that all readers read every issue.
Finally, Sunspot will be joining the team in UXM War of Realms #2!
lol thanks
but
I don't care about the artwork that much lol in fact I used to like reading the Xmen novels better as a kid(lol) alllthough Quietly was the artist of of the X-issue that got me back into comics *see avatar*
Buuuut
Bill Siekieeicz and Chris Bachalo are other Artists I recognize and give many snaps to
Me too! I discovered comics with John Byrne, so I will always have a fondness for his X-Men. The Sienkiewicz New mutants were a major artistic shock for me, I was young I couldn't even decide if I found it beautiful or ugly but I was hypnotized! The Arthur Adams episodes in Asgard were really beautiful, everyone of them were beautiful!
Morrison and Quitely brought me back to X-Men and Whedon made me stay longer.
For the New mutants I just want them to grow up and not stay forever the generation in-between.
Kudos to Jim Lee for giving us a bookend during X-Tinction Agenda. End of an Era!
