I don't know who drew this...but some how they managed to tap into Hellion's subconscious

Captain, in Order to build a better world, sometimes means tearing the old one down... And that makes enemies.

There was a good idea here, holding the X-Men responsible for the kids they essentially abandoned, but the absolute wrong adult character was chosen to spout the spandex-lifer party line so Vic could have someone to rebel against. Cyclops, Iceman, Beast - any one of those would have been a much better fit.
Apologies for the implication that Jean Paul is devoid of empathy. Not my intention.
Snarky is most definitely on brand for JP, but I think Young misrepresented JP in this instance. Its similar to how Emma Frost is regularly written as a str8 up bitch, because that's easier(?) than delving into the complexities and nuances of such layered characters like she and JP.
I agree on your assessment about sending someone else for the narrative Young intended. This "adult fail", we'll call it, would've been more appropriate for someone like Iceman, especially. Deflecting with humor/awkwardness/teasing. That's very much in line with Bobbers emotional immaturity. Sending JP to speak with Anole was a great idea, but not for the author's intended outcome.

Oh, I didn't take it as your intention. More like how Young's portrayal turned out. Blech. That short was easily one my top ten biggest disappointments in comics.

I don't get the reviews that said that this mostly depended on how much you like Glob. I mean, he was in this but he wasn't a bigger focus than Armor or Pixie or Anole. I think the characters that really got sidelined were Rockslide and Shark-Girl. Also, if Bling!, Anole, Armor, and Rockslide are all sitting there and Hellion has gone AWOL, who is Mercury even sitting with?

even in the Age of X-Man, Julian's restricted to volunteer work at hospitals and working at corporate coffeeshop chains.

We love Shark Girl. I do hate when these heathens call her Shark ****. She should be an honorary New X-Man. Actually so should Oya. And Genesis. And Broo. Basically all the good X-Men from Aaron’s run. Don’t take me seriously. But also please do.
