Well that was part of the idea behind the New 52 in general.

    I understand that.

It may be surprising, since I am a big fan of Batgirl/Stephanie, but I was very excited about Batgirl/Barbara when New52 started.

I really liked Barbara as Oracle, so I wanted to see her in more street action. However, the result disappointed me, as I saw her too inexperienced and tormented in the comics.

Problem with that was literally soon after in a separate comic Bruce gave Lois Barbara's exact old costume. Barbara also kept appearing in it with other Batfamily members all using techarmor suits.
She looked so silly and out of place.

I didn't care for the costume either. I don't advocate super tight sex kitten looks for every character, but Babs should be more professional than that. I'm in general not a fan of the "easy cosply" costume look. Cosplayers can do amazing looks of old school well designed costumes.
Going from Simone's Batgirl to Burnside is already jarring I can't imagine reading Burnside right after Oracle

#39 was a little over wordy, but not a bad introspective. Also things are gonna heat up with Babs in White Knight.

So it's now being reported that Barbara Gordon as Batgirl will be in Matt Reeves The Batman movie. This will also tie into the standalone Batgirl film.
I really hope we finally get to see Barbara Gordon as Batgirl on the big screen. She has never been in a live action movie. I want to see her red hair flowing from under her cowl while she is swinging from the rooftops of Gotham.

Well unless she's adopted or wearing a wig, she won't have red hair flowing in the wind as she swings since Gordon is black in Matt Reeves' Batman.

True, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did a Batwoman wig if we get a black Batgirl, assuming they even keep that element.
