I applaud every artist who can make Manta look intimidating because that oversized helmet can easily look silly. Like Mysterio's fishbowl.

They had to call that version Devil Ray because they weren't allowed to use Black Manta plus they killed him off in the same episode I think.

In his second appearance, in the Deadman episode, but you're right about them not being able to call him Black Manta.

Aquaman was also supposed to be in that episode but they couldn't use either because of the Mercy Reef show being produced at the time.

I really love the name Devil Ray, does DC own the rights? I want it for myself.

I think the Young Justice show made him look pretty cool. I like the body armor and think he would be a nice look for him in the comics too.

Agreed. That’s probably the best Manta look. Wish they would use that in the comics. I found it funny that his alternate helmets in Injustice just got bigger and more elaborate. I was hoping to find one that was a little toned down but they went in the opposite direction.

Some of the helmet designs are crazy but some are super cool.

I love how elaborate they get, I think it makes him more terrifying. Could you imagine one of these freaky guys (in all black)

popping out of the sea in the dead of night with Manta's ferocity and skill?
