It is good, but it's very much Nat is 'solo stoic badass' mode for the most part

Yes it was! I enjoyed that about the book. I tried to read The Name of the Rose, but I wasn't really as in to it as the Nathan Edmondson run.

I loved both of them, I have the trades for both, but for different reasons.

Do you gals/guys like Natasha "old?"

Also, can somebody tell me where did it first stated that she was "old."

    Thanks, in advance.

I think the first mention of her being older than she looks is Uncanny X-Men #268, where she's said to have been a child in 1941, the first time she met Logan. If I'm not missing anything, this isn't followed up again until Black Widow: Homecoming (published 14 years later), where Luudmila Kudrin tells her that the Red Room gave all the Black Widows a serum that, among other things, slowed their aging.

Edit: Forgot to say how I feel about it! I like it a lot. It puts her in a category with Fury Sr. and Wolverine and helps support the whole "world's best spy" reputation. It makes sense for the Marvel universe's top spies to have been around for a while...

I much prefer her being old.

The runs by Warren Ellis, Nick Spencer, and Ales Kot are all good.

And while it wasn't super-popular around these parts, the Mark Waid & Chris Samee Black Widow run was IMO a solid story that serves as a good introduction to her. (Probably because it repeats a lot of plot points from past stories). It's stylish and cool.
Most people here liked the Samnee book quite a bit as far as I remember.
I didn't as I felt it was hard to care.

Speaking of: I just read the solicits for September (yeah I know I'm late) and ... are they really telling the same story they always tell AGAIN? :|

Nat haunted by her past - goes off the grid - can she be trusted?

    Come on...

I mean I didn't enjoy that punisher-esque mini but at least it was something different for once
