That's a good question. All we Know right now is that DD believes that he did, but that doesn't necessary means it actually happened.

I think Matt would be able to tell if it was Spidey or not.

For me, that look back he gave was either a) our of sympathy or b) something sinister, knowing he’d broken him.

Something about it all makes me think the latter.
