I love how involved Pete seems to be becoming in this run of Daredevil. Just enough to have an impact but not steal the show from Matt. Two of my favorites.

I love anytime when my two marvel favorites can interact. They play so well off one another.

Issue #7 ended with such a great moment, seriously.

And I would absolutely agree that in addition to the writing being a bit inconsistent, he was hurt by not having a consistent artist to help define his run. However, I did quite enjoy the arc with the Purple Man and the panels with all the different "iterations" of Daredevil. Within that arc (issue #19 I believe) I also like that when the Purple Man asked Matt to do the worst thing he could think of and for Matt the worst thing was to have the power to stop evil from happening, but to do nothing. I thought that was pretty powerful; however, aside from that there was a lot of inconsistency.
I agree with this. The issue with Soule's run I felt was that when Garney wasn't on the art it felt almost like Soule approached the arcs between as filler. This was okay early on (The Blind Man's Bluff casino issues with Spidey were good fun), but arcs like The Seventh Day and especially Supreme felt like they were being done and dragged on to get to the next great part of the run, because I do actually think Dark Art and Purple were both actually great. After the renumbering to #595 though when Garney left the Mayor Fisk arc and everything up until Phil Noto got on for the Death of Daredevil and Mike Murdock stuff felt like it was going through the motions. The high points of Soule's run I find pretty memorable, but the low points I find completely forgettable.

Same! Chip pulls off fitting Peter into the serious tone for the nature of the story really well too. I can't wait to see more.

Reading the late 80’s/early 90’s Daredevil, and I noticed after Nocenti left, Typhoid Mary was hardly ever used. Did Nocenti have a deal with Marvel, like they did with Miller, in regards to working with the character?

No. She was used in D.G. Chichester's run during Last Rites. Then she Joe Kelly used her for his Deadpool run and she became a supporting character there for a while. Nocenti did continue to use the character as well after leaving Daredevil, though, having her in Marvel Comics Presents stories. There's a trade that collects those stories called "Typhoid Fever." The first story takes place before Last Rites, but the latter has to respond to that particular story and has her initially in a mental hospital.

I have a real problem with the art on Daredevil. The story is good, better than Soule, but Lalit Kumar Sharma is too bland for this, too amateur and issue #8 was his worst work. Daredevil, like Batman, work best when there is a dialog between the writing and the pencilling. But it's like the penciller doesn't even care.

It doesn't help that he's filling in for one of the best artists in comics right now.

That definitely does not help. But I don’t mind the current artist as much since Checchetto is soon to return. And as this weeks issue, it was fine. Hopefully that entire dinner that took up the majority of the issue has some payoff later others this issue feel like absolutely filler. And scene during dinner where DD here’s the sniper rifle before the shots are fired and warns must have been taken right out the Netflix show where Matt, Karen, and Foggy are taking to the D.A. (I think) same events unfold.
