That's a cool variant. I think there's a very good argument that it's better than the original cover. IMO, it's certainly more dynamic.

Daredevil's single issue figures for February 2019:

    13. Daredevil #1 - 61,566
    43. Daredevil #2 - 35,763

    And a re-entry:

    431. Daredevil #595 - 920

I was hoping for a higher result for issue #1. It's the lowest figure for all the Daredevil No. 1 's starting from Volume 2 (see below).

    Daredevil #1 (Vol. 2 - Smith & Quesada)) charted at No. 11 with 91K
Daredevil #1 (Vol. 3 -Waid) charted at No. 6 with 65K
    Daredevil #1 (Vol. 4 - Waid & Samnee) charted at No. 6 with 76K
    Daredevil #1 (Vol. 5 - Soule) charted at No. 12 with 85K

The figure for Daredevil #2 is also not too encouraging and doesn't bode well for the future unless Daredevil picks up new fans/readers along the way. A drop for the second issue is always expected but 35k may mean future issues will drop further and 35K would have been a nice regular monthly figure. Saying that, it was a very weak month for all comics with only the No. 1 comic reaching above 100K. We'll see how things pan out. Daredevil may pick up a solid following as has Immortal Hulk by Ewing.

Those numbers for issue 2 seem off to me.

I've gone to most local comic shops in my area (5 so far) and two non-Comic Shops that sell new comics and it's sold out at all of them. I had to call my main shop and see if they could get me a second print copy once it comes out. The general consensus I've seen talking to them while asking if they had it was that both it and the first issue sold better than expectations.

Unless every shop in my area really under-ordered on it, those numbers don't seem right (at least around here.)

Well it's definitely picked me up. I read issue #1 and loved it, so I've added it to my pull list. A lot of my Daredevil reading has been through collected editions but I enjoyed issue #1 enough to make me want to read it monthly.

This is very encouraging. Hopefully there’s a lot more of the same elsewhere.
