The Ms. Marvel costume will be a free alternate costume for Carol in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 on August 30th:

To be honest I was surprised it appeared in the "Carol Cave."

I thought Marvel was trying to pretend Carol's time as Ms. Marvel and those skimpy costumes never happened :P.

Adaptations certainly treat it that way - and also that Kamala was the first Ms. Marvel (she's the fourth).

But if the costume was the issue, you'd think they'd retcon it to add pants, like DC did with Robin.

Why? It was also added on Marvel vs Capcom. And it has been in a bunch of ~oldschool Avengers~ variant covers. And even on the current run it had already shown up on this cover:

Ms. Marvel was Carol's longest tenure as a superhero and the suit is iconic. Marvel doesnt try to act as if that never happened

I still lean towards Mystique, personally. Or maybe the Kree in general rather than Yon-Rogg specifically.

This makes sense. Think about what happens in her origin! Brie would be playing Kamala (since she emerged from the cocoon shapeshifted as Carol) for a couple of scenes, then maybe cameo again later when Kamala gets to meet Carol.
