Carol Danvers - Captain Marvel Appreciation 2019

Yeah, it's a handful, but they're meaningful. There was the initial fight, Carol being upset at Rogue joining the X-Men, and then I think not until Brian Reid's run. Rogue's internal psyche version of Carol has probably had more fights with Rogue, tbh.

Here is a list of encounter off the top of my head of actual face to face encounters between Rogue and the real Carol Danvers. There aren't that many, you're right.

Most of these fights are pretty context heavy anyway.

UXM158 Carol was depowered so rogue won
UXM171 Carol was binary, way above normal levels, and had rogue caught offguard so rogue seemed to be on a disadvantage but the fight was interrupted https://i.imgur.com/rQzv8F5.jpg
Contest of champions II may have been decisive since Carol had a brood queen inhabiting rogue's body basically pinned and helpless, bluffing to kill her which made the queen just leave. https://i.imgur.com/sNo4ZYg.jpg
Ms. marvel 9-10 basically had alt-Warbird hopping dimensions killing rogues but was beaten by both rogue and 616carol. Though at one point she nearly killed rogue, saved by 616carol https://i.imgur.com/76dB6YF.jpg
X-men legacy carol wasn't even trying to fight, but rogue mistook it as an ambush and borrowed carol's powers and basically rebuffed any attempts by carol to de-esalate even when carol had her in a crater trying to talk https://i.imgur.com/Trb3kRd.jpg Rogue did win at this point but I'm not sure how much it counts considering carol's mindset

there was even a fight with the carol psyche separated from rogue with the siege perilous but rogue basically didn't want to fight carol and "kill" her again. The fight ended with that carol dying bc of magneto saving rogue

Captain Marvel getting second and third printings is awesome. It helps that Kelly is writing a killer series.

I'm skeptical of second printings because all it means to me is they didn't order enough books in the first place, but third printings and second printings of subsequent issues tell me that people really want the book.
