I wonder if Northstar could be part of the incoming cast on Fallen Angels. He's generally a guy who likes to maintain his own space, will absolutely make himself an outsider among outsiders, and has a lot more ties to the larger world than most of the X-Men do. Not to mention he has a human husband. So he could be one of those mutants who doesn't feel comfortable pulling up stakes and moving to the commune on Krakoa.
