Awww! Good on you for getting that name! That's why I use Rosebunse. Ain't no one has that.

Anger is fine. Anger leads to sadness. Which leads to a good comic.

guess we'll find out in a few days. I mean, i get why characters have to be put through rough stuff, I don't have a problem with Kibblesmith doing that. But i also don't want him to always be the target of misery. He's made a lot of progress, he shouldn't be punished for that, he should be able to be happy sometimes.

In Wolverine: Infinity Watch reveals that Loki knew he would be eaten by his father and there was little life left for him ... wow Then it turns out that someone from above controls the gems of infinity and Warlock with his desire that the gems of the infinite had their own soul to decide on their own will is actually what Loki wanted

Yeah. I got the impression when it happened that he knew it was coming, but I assumed it was more of a reading the situation sort of thing, and that what he saw in the God Quarry was more to do with the end of time kinda deal. I'd have preferred just reading the situation, honestly, just because i feel it's stronger if this is a very self driven journey, because the point is that he is fighting fate, so having him just go along with a per-destined future seems to not fit that. But not a deal breaker, because it at least shows that he knew what the result would be of him saving Freyja, and did it anyway, which is brave. But we know he's not dead dead, so apparently either something changed, or the vision was incomplete for some reason. Also, found it interesting that it was revealed at the end that it was actually Wolverine that had the ulterior motive in this teamup. A good ulterior motive, but still. Loki really was just trying to help, Wolverine wanted to use Hector to bring back the X-Men.

Also read Iron Man, which was the second issue of it's WotR tie-in, and i am wondering now if this will sort of be the thing that brings Loki to Tony in Loki's book. In this little 2 issue mini-arc, roughly what happened is there is a dragon from Jotunheim that Malekith sends to take out Tony, and the dragon keeps calling Tony a 'king' and the dragon's magic infects Tony's tech and he goes all fantasy magic armor, and he hates magic and he doesn't get it, etc. I dunno, just, the whole thing about the dragon being from Jotunheim and the whole calling Tony a king all the time, and the magic stuff... it just seems to me it could possibly tie in. In additon to the similarities between Loki and Tony, and Tony's current existential crisis over being a copy of his old self, which I am sure Loki could totally relate to, and all.

oh, ps. I made Loki a second costume in CoH, where i took the coat off. turned out better than i was expecting, actually, even if a couple details like the crossed belts and stuff can't be done. It's the more old school costumes and the movie looks that are hard, actually. Just, none of the horns are right.... and siege needs the big ol furry collar thing, and classic needs that weird collar thing... I hope if he gets a Thor costume, even if it just lasts the one issue, it's doable.

I really liked Infinity Watch because it felt Duggan was sort of able to make sense of the mess of Infinity War. He seemed to have a real handle on all of the characters, even Wolverine, who really can be a bastard but who's motivation here is quite understandable. He wants his family back.

I'm confused, though, so are the Celestrials the ones conteolling the stones?

The vision Loki saw probably showed him being eaten, which he assumed would kill him, especially if it ended there and didn't show him what happened after. Loki may have just assumed that he would die and be reincarnated. Or just die. Loki absolutely wasn't planning on living past that and certainly not in whatever state he's in now.

but, i mean.... he created the mess that needed cleaning up in the first place. It did end stronger than it started, sure, but still.

they looked like Celestials, but they may be like an older more powerful version of them. It does fit with other things, like in Venom, that show them among the very first gods. Remember, a celestial, or at least something that looked like one, was the first god that Knull killed, and used it's body as his forge to create All-Black. I bet this will be covered in Avengers with the million BC stuff., and maybe some more with Venom.

The vision Loki saw probably showed him being eaten, which he assumed would kill him, especially if it ended there and didn't show him what happened after. so like i said, incomplete. To show Loki being eaten, they had to realize Loki would assume that would be the end of him, so it was kind of a lie by omission. Why they would do this, I don't know. But maybe once he is revived, and can reflect on the fact that it was probably going through that ordeal was what made him worthy, and allowed him to finally change his role, that he can see it actually WAS a reward, in a weird way. Being killed there will lead to a symbolic rebirth into a new role, which sort of accomplished his goal, so it really was kind of a good thing, if you look at it in a certain way.

Though on that note, changing his role is only part of his goal, his larger goal is to simply write his own destiny, escape predetermined roles entirely, so... he succeeded in that he escaped his current role that he doesn't like, and landed in a better one, but it appears fate may still be in control, which may cause... problems... Even if he landed a pretty good role this time. If nothing else, if I am right about Balder, Loki escaping his role will cause problems for Balder. But I also imagine that once Loki figures out that he's just kinda repeating the same story beats Thor did, and realizes he's still not actually in control of his fate, he's not going to like that, even if the role he finds himself in is a good one.

I was thinking though, if the Norse pantheon in Marvel lore is governed by roles, and Loki's stepping into Thor's role, and Jane is becoming the new Valkyrie.... who will be the new Jane? We've discussed possible love interests before as something that might be nice to see, but if we follow this through completely, Loki actually kinda needs a mortal love interest to properly mirror Thor's story. I mean, i guess it could be a bit more symbolic, in that it might be just something that is continually drawing him to Midgard, while the All-Father (now Thor) thinks his attention should be focused on his duties in Asgard/Jotunheim, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a love interest let alone a person at all... but I think a person would kinda mean more. And if it is a person, if they are to fit Jane's role, then they have to be a mortal. So no Hercules (even if he didn't appear to be occupied with other things at the moment after the Olympians got rebooted in space) or bringing back Sigyn, or any other Asgardian or even an elf or something. Needs to be someone tied to Midgard specifically. One new one occurred to me, with the Giant-Man series... Raz. He said in there, in the very first issue, that he had broken up with his boyfriend, so... and kinda fitting that the king of Jotunheim ends up with Giant-Man

Kibblesmith is teasing us again. https://twitter.com/kibblesmith/stat...18769061269504

Not too much we couldn't already glean from this though. Fancy suits, and that little snow boy.

    huh.

Ok so the obvious ones out of the way first:

    - So when I was speculating about the snow man and thought it might be a mix between a Frost Atronach from Skyrim, and Olaf from Frozen... it may have pretty much just been an Olaf rip off. Still think he will be essentially Loki's FRIDAY tho
    - It does appear Loki will be going somewhere very fancy.
    - Seems there will be something involving a very big library. Possibly a trip to the Halls of All-Knowing in Omnipotence City, though there is already comic book reference for that, so.... the stack of books is probably also for that.

    then there's the weirder stuff.

    - Japanese Macaque... um.... ok...
    - Wile E. Coyote... uh... I mean while I was expecting something a bit more funny from Kibblesmith based on his previous work and his day job working for the Late Show, I hope he's not going quite THAT slapstick with Loki. Works with Deadpool, but I think it's too far for Loki.

I mean, I think slapstick can work. Loki technically weapinuzes it in fights. Plus, Loki is totally Road Runner in that scenario.

I guess I wouldn't mind the Olaf rip-off so long as they make it freaky and weird. How or why would Loki create such a thing?8

I still think that level of slapstick would be way too much. Loki weaponizes deception, not slapstick. That's Deadpool territory. And the picture was of Wile E. Coyote specifically, not Road Runner. Road Runner is clever and tricky. Wile. E is an idiot who THINKS he's smart. He's like the cartoon embodiment of the Dunning Kruger Effect. so if there is a parallel being made there with Loki that is a bit worrying. but probably reading too much into that pic. Cus Loki is totally Bugs Bunny.

As for the snow man, 'how' is easy, "magic" if Loki can create that Kid Loki dupe, he can create a walking talking snow man, easy. Why? I figure the most likely answer is that it's his way of trying to technically fulfill his responsibilities without having to actually be there. This construct he makes takes care of all the boring details he doesn't want to bother with, possibly with a side of security if he gives it powers, so he can go have adventures on Midgard. Like i said, Loki's FRIDAY. Or his Hand, if you want something more directly tied to being a king. He technically is in charge and calling the shots, but the details are handled by someone else.

    Hi everybody
I'm an old member that hasn't been active in ages. I used to hang around on Nightcrawler thread years ago. Recently I've been following Loki and Deadpool, so here I am, waiting for the WotR resolve.

That sounds like something Loki would do.

Still hope they take that to its logical and horrifying conclusion lol

Oh, I am sure the snowman ploy will go wrong somehow. I think it would be hilarious to see that cute l'il guy just go berserk. Though if I am right about the role changes driving them forward in a certain way, i think Loki's biggest obstacles will be Thor, trying to keep him on task and away from Midgard, and also trying to teach him a lesson of some kind, like Odin did with Thor. Plus a side of Balder helping Thor in that task, but while thor is trying to help Loki be better, Balder is motivated by revenge and bitter jealousy, eventually just going after Loki one on one. But like Thor also had a number of other baddies and challenges, obviously Loki will have some more as well.

Whelp, here's the fancy suit, from the Emanuela Lupacchino variant cover:

So goes to a casino to cheat his way into riches. Seems like a Loki thing to do.

    also the Rafael Albuquerque variant:

Love Emanuela's as usual, have always really liked her work, but Rafael's, who i do notmally really like and was looking forward to seeing.... not so much. though I do find it very intriguing that the first arc is apparently called the SAME THING as the the first arc of Agent of Asgard.

and hi, Karabaja! also a Nightcrawler fan who kinda wandered away from the X-books in recent years.

And solicits are out. I've already posted about King Thor and the Avengers thing, so other than that he's just in his own book and he is going up against one of the main baddies from JiM! not Mephisto, but close:

    LOKI #3
    DANIEL KIBBLESMITH (W) • OSCAR BAZALDUA (A)
    COVER BY OZGUR YILDIRIM
    WELCOME TO HIS NIGHTMARE!
The nefarious NIGHTMARE has come to Earth, and only Loki, “The God of Nothing,” can stop him from trapping all of New York City into the Nightmare Dimension! But first, he’ll need to strike a bargain with a new and powerful force that will change the Marvel Universe forever. Who or what will Loki become when he steps foot into the mysterious HOUSE OF IDEAS?

so bringing back that House of Ideas thing from Avengers: No Road Home which means we may actually get some God of Stories stuff, even though it calls him 'The God of Nothing' there. Also, since Nightmare is tying into that Acts of Evil thing we may be seeing here how Loki connects to that.

and he seems to have lost his shirt... but not his armor. huh. Maybe that's all there is to his 'thor' transformation?
