Really, I think you're getting too upset because Spider-Gwen isn't the biggest fish in the Marvel sea of female characters. Carol Danvers is.

As for MJ, she's still Spidey's perennial love interest. Spider-Gwen is a different thing.
Okay, I have no idea how you got that from my posts. I never once mentioned Carol Danvers until you brought her up and I never contested her pride of place among female Marvel characters. Also, I never said SG is the biggest female Marvel character only that she could be the biggest (most profitable) female Spidey character given how much merch she sells.

Would people say Lois Lane is more or about as much marketable as Supergirl is?

(I hate comparing MJ to Lois Lane, but it's the only thing I could think of).

    Do you think Marvel cares?

About marketability and profitability of characters, I'd say they sure do.

Honestly if I really looked at it, I would probably say Supergirl is more marketable than Lois, mainly because (like Spider-Gwen) she's a superhero, so it's easier for her to get a lot more exposure through many different outlets.

Just like with MJ, that doesn't diminish Lois' importance, they just play two very distinct roles, and in terms of whats being sold, they're always gonna end up giving the heroes more attention than the love interests.

I have no idea what you mean.

I see no reason to pull this thread any further off topic as it is an appreciation thread, not a debate thread, thus I'll refrain from any further replies to you regarding this matter.

Sins Uncovered. Gwen was Peter's cousin.

Soooo, apparently Tom Holland called Michelle/MJ "Mary Jane" in a Far From Home panel. Are they finally confirming that Zendaya's a Mary Jane iteration? Seems weird to me he'll drop that name since Feige and co insisted that she wasn't Mary Jane.

He also mentions that MJ is a "historic, iconic" character "we all know and love" and that would be him drawing a long bow if he's pointing to an OC who only existed two years ago and had like, 8 lines in the movie.
