However, Gil Kane switched from interiors to being one of Marvel's main cover artists in the mid-1970s. The story goes that Kane was going through a divorce and needed extra money. 20 covers a month paid more than 20 pages of interiors. Smart move on his part to think of that.
He's probably my favorite cover artist of all time. Neal Adams, Nick Cardy, George Perez and Dave Cockrum all my other favorite cover artists.
