Welcome to the High Voodoo Priest Sorcerer Supreme! Jericho Drumm is too slept on, but it’s his time to shine.

Ugh. Can a mod fix the title? I meant it to say the 2019 thread

I really hope this is true. It’d be great to see Brother Voodoo on the big screen. Also would help Marvel incorporate some horror elements into their films.

If they bothered putting Daniel Drumm in the first movie, I ALMOST am willing to say it's a given we'll see his brother. Its an obvious set up.

That’s what I’m expecting. I can’t wait to see him on the big screen. Maybe make Louisiana another focal point to safeguard earth from mystical menaces, since the Japanese sanctum was destroyed. Also, he’d be a great character to go up against Nightmare with.

I’m researching a lot of stories, myths and legends around Voodoo, and there’s so much potential here for an ongoing, or a series of minis. I really wish Marvel would put a creative team on him, and push him as much as they have other characters over the last few years.

I’d also need to build up his rogues gallery. Develop Black Talon from the joke and charicature he’d become. Add Calypso, revamp the Brothers Grimm as Voodoo inspired characters, create a Baron Samedi, a villainess named the Voodoo Queen, Dakihm the Enchanter, and so on. And that would be just the first storyline.

His last mini was really good. That could have been a company wide event if it were expanded a bit more.

But if he shows up in the next Dr. Strange movie (and it seems like he will), then I think he'll start getting more attention on the comic book side too. Fingers crossed.

If memory serves, there are already two different Barons Samedi (one a loa, the other a villain) and Marie Laveau has show up at least once in a Dracula story.

If I was writing Jericho, I'd make some changes. As I put it in another thread:

Regarding his look, I rather like the outfit he had at the end of Avengers #690:

Maybe not the big earrings, tho.

As for his backstory, given that Jericho is canonically an accredited psychologist, I'd swipe an idea Priest used for Shadowman back in the Acclaim days, and make him a late-night jazz DJ in New Orleans who uses "Doctor Voodoo" as his nom du micro.

It was a great bit, and it always annoyed me that the publisher didn't do more with it.

ShadowMan was my ish back in the day. God, I’d love to see a new ongoing for Jericho written by Priest. I’d also love to see someone like Patrick Zitcher, Kev Walker, Billy Tan, Kim Jacinto or Kyle Hotz on art duties. Maybe have Coates on the book.

Another character I’d co-opt into becoming a Jericho villain would be the Dream Queen, from Jim Lee’s era of Alpha Flight. She’s Nightmare’s daughter, and is in serious need of a return.

Nightmare himself has to be considered one of his rogues, since he stopped Nightmare in his solo book.

And that's a new Avengers book too. Given the X-Men's current situation, Uncanny isn't viable, so I'd guess it's going to be called New Avengers.
