I think it' s POSSIBLE that there won't be a Captain Marvel 2. But given that every other marvel solo movie is getting sequals, I think it's a reasonbly safe bet.

Comic book films are not going anywhere. They are making to make money. Did you even read what you type. Why would they cast her in this film then never use her in other films when she is a woman

I think she could be used similar to say Falcon if she gets powers. They could be friends that team up in Carols movie. Butif Carol has been doing this since the 90s she clearly would be the older more experienced of the two. That could set up a sort of mentor relationship.

Yeah, we're talking a 25 year time skip here. Spectrum could get her powers soon after Avengers Endgame, and already have a year or two under her belt in CM2. Meanwhile, Kamala will be the sidekick figure of that film, before graduating to a teen team (which would have members from both the Champions and Young Avengers, likely using the latter name).

We'll see obviously. Obviously we're just speculating.

But I think the fact that the debuted her as a child is an indicator that she's more than just a one shot easter egg. Debuting her as a child in the past means she's a viable adult character in the future. So she's set up well as supporting cast of some sort for Carol. Because her first movie is in the past, it means she can't necessarily set up her supporting cast for the next movie as effectively. But due to Monica's age, she works.

LOVE Monica, not only my favorite avenger but my favorite hero as well. She has an amazing powerset and is a natural leader that commands respect.

To me, that respect has yet to be depicted in the comics and the cinema.
