Cap's enjoying one of the finest comic runs in comics right now!

Here's one of my all time favorite panels (not from the current run):

Makes me wonder what would've happened if J. Michael Straczynski had gotten to write a Captain America book, since this panel came right from his Civil War tie-in issues in Amazing Spider-Man.
The spider is always on the hunt.

Great scene. Cap has so many inspiring moments and this is one of the best.

When I get some time, I'll put together a list of must read Cap stories.

Everyone feel free to post must read cap stories and I'll add them to the op.

My first experience with Captain America was from this DOS game

    Spider-Man_and_Captain_America_in_Doctor_Doom's_Revenge.jpg

Doom planned to nuke New York so Spidey and Cap infiltrated Castle Latveria, fighting various villains and doombots along the way. Cap can jump, punch, and throw his shield, but it was a really hard game with stiff control that I never finished.

What's neat was there's a prologue comic packaged with the game, and the comic continues inside the game. You click on panels where the villains appear in story and duel with them similar to a versus fighting game. Then once that's done you move on to the next comic page and the next villains.

I wish they'd bring Ian and Jet back. They're left in limbo.

The first essential Captain America stories to read is the Roger Stern and John Byrne run in the series.
It was not many stories so the whole run have been reprinted in TPBīS.
After that my next must read Captain America stories is the stories of Mark Gruenwald. The Steve Rogers vs John Walker story comes to mind as a fine exemple of a great Captain America story in the Mark Gruenwald run.

Same. I'd especially like to see Ian again. I know it's up to the writers and editors to decide where the stories and characters go, but if Steve has a child, it wouldn't be like him to completely drop him from his life.

Rick Remender and John Romita junior was a phenomenal retracing of steps taken by young Steve Rogers in defining who he was in Dimension Z. This type of background to characters is greatly lacking, and the way Rick and John portrayed the evil of growing up in that era from 1926-1935 America was hard on Romita in particular, because he told the story visually, when America was not showing its nice face.

Captain America was given his mission in life in Remenders flashback series in Dimension Z. We get a good insight as to why Steve could have become a gangster if not for his mother Sarah. Not his father Joseph, who showed Steve the ugly side of the pub culture of the Irish, sending their families to the poor house, (if there was such a thing in America). But Steve stole money and medicines when the money ran out, and when Sarah got beaten by Joseph, Steve was content if Sarah stayed down to avoid further assault. But Sarah got back up and faced Joseph down, something Steve wouldn’t have done if Sarah didn’t show him how.

So I wonder what that says about America?

There are two types of people in this world. Those with courage, and those who don’t have courage. I think Steve Rogers gives an example to those who don’t have courage.

I think Jet Black is dead by now. Cap remained in Dimension Z for half an hour and Jet Black hasn’t emerged from there in months.

I thought Ian Rogers came back in ANAD already? But he’s just hiding now, probably because he can’t meld into 616 society, which is so strange to Dimension Z with its continuous violence and death. This peaceful 616, by comparison, would be uncomfortable to Ian Rogers.
