If the rumor was true, it's up in the air.

If it's true, you'd just have to check solicits every month to see if it comes up there. We had a con recently, so there probably won't be anymore of those soon.

And Pak mentions stuff he's working on that nobody knows about, other Marvel projects that he has coming. But he says it's too early to say anything.

Though the part's not that big, we get answers on Sabretooth's status in this week's Black Widow.

    spoilers:
The chapter opens where it ended, with Widow facing Madame Masque. Eventually she wins the fight, and steals MM's clothes to get into the villain party where she saw Task Master, Zemo, and Creed going. She infiltrates the party, where the Prince's assistant come out with an entire bin fill of money where he begins throwing to all the party goers. Creed smirks that he thought crime paid, but didn't know peace paid so well.Widow wants to stay clear of Creed because she doesn't know what side he's on, and he'd be able to smell that she isn't Masque but has Masque's blood on her.

Eventually she's approached by Zemo, who wants her services again, but Widow (as Masque) rejects him & begins to walk away. Zemo catches up to her later, grabbing her arm & saying he wasn't finished. Widow protests, but Zemo is persistent. Eventually Creed steps in & warns him to keep his paws to himself, the lady isn't interested. Zemo walks away & says she can spend time with someone on her level, a dog.

Creed smirks & says he hopes she didn't mind him stepping in, but the good guys need to stick together, before calling her "Red." Widow curses, since he found out who she was, but Creed tells her to relax, he could tell it was her soon as she walked in. Creed escorts her to the prince, telling his assistant they wanna pay respects. The Prince greets them both & brags about his gift to everyone. Creed isn't impressed with money, and has lived long enough to see paper crap take the place of pure gold. The Prince has Creed escorted out while he speaks to Widow (still disguised as Masque).

Needless to say, things end very badly for Widow when she's drug-kissed and wakes up tied to a chair for the games to begin. End. So the Soska Sisters are a bit behind as Creed is in fact still inverted here. So far, what bit we've seen of him, I enjoyed. The seem to get his voice down pretty well, but the "good guys need to stick together" comment was a tad cringey. I had Pak flashbacks there. lol Unknown if he'll be back in the following issue to help Widow again, or if being escorted out was his graceful exit. But this is the best Sabretooth since Brisson's last Feb. in Iron Fist lol
    end of spoilers

So Creed outside of the X-Office continues to be the better one. About the same as Emma, where she's getting shine in Jessica Jones as an anti-hero than she has been in the X-books-far as her fans are concerned.

At least it's a good showing for Sabretooth but I'm surprised that he's still inverted here. I haven't read the issue but:

    spoilers:
Could it be possible that it was a trap all along and Sabretooth delivered Widow to those guys who drugged her?
    end of spoilers

Or is this series supposed to take place in the past before the end of Weapon X?

Since the issues been out a few hours, I think it's safe to un-spolier.

But I did think about that earlier. After I left the post, I read over the issue again, but couldn't do too much typing given my job. It's miracle I got any posts out.

But I figured Creed could be inverted, or since he's the only one who could sniff out a hero in disguise, was he the hound for intruders & took Widow there to get caught purposefully.

The Soska Sisters said this story was written years ago, but they just got the greenlight to do it. So Creed could still be inverted here. And the story would take place before Weapon X-Force -around the same time as Claws of A Killer, since Creed has long hair in both. He cut it after taking over Weapon X.

Then again, depending on how old it is, it could take place around his adventures in Iron Fist last year, which I always figured took place before Weapon X. lol

I hope he is still inverted, as this could be a last good hurrah since there was none in Weapon X. lol So I'd like him to come back to help Widow next issue. But he very well may be a villain.

I posted the interview on the first or second page. The Soska Sisters mention villains we would see and Jen says that Sabretooth's a good guy now. Then Silvia says he's never good, and as soon as you as see him there, you'll say "I'm sure he's the villain of this." And their interviewers all agreed that he looks like a villain, and you don't trust him.

I see thanks for the info about the Soska sisters and when the story was created, you're right it would make sense if Sabretooth is still inverted here and yeah that could be a nice hurrah for this version fo the character. That's interesting about his look, so it's something similar to this new look he has on the WOTR cover?

Honestly if that's the case and he's still inverted yeah that should take place before Weapon X #22, maybe when he was doing some mercenary stuff.

Thanks for the interview, I have to admit they did a good job because I don't trust him and I think it could be the villain in this story lol but it could be interesting to just have Sabretooth team up with Widow in the end and help her against those guys, it could be a nice twist especially if he's still inverted.

At least Sabretooth is written well so that's a good thing, I hope Rosenberg will do a good job too.

Here's a pic. He's hair is man-bunned, but it looks a good bit longer than the WotR cover.

If we're dealing with Invert Creed, it's gotta be before Weapon X-Force. If so,damn him for cheating on Monet. lol Sony, couldn't resist.

Yeah. So it's still in the air. Is Creed a hound for the villains. Or a double-agent for the heroes. Next chapter may tell. If he shows up in it, and this wasn't his last appearance.

I have doubts. I saw Rosenberg's Sabretooth in Phoenix Resurrection, and he came off exactly like Pak's Sabretooth. Gotta pass on that....

So sad as it is, I swore off reading Sabretooth in the X-books as soon as Pak reverted him, given he's been a fodder villain for most of the last 16 years. And he just doesn't have good stories as a villain anymore. Just half-baked schemes with Mystique. And I am tired of seeing him get embarrassed by the heroes & her. lol This story may be an exception.

Sadly, that's 2 favs. I swore off of due to writers not taking them seriously, Creed, along with Deadpool.

Nice, thanks for the image I have to admit I like this design for Creed! Lmao poor Monet, the change of editors really didn't help her that's for sure. With any luck once AOX is done, she will join one of the main X-Teams. If Marvel can resurrect Synch and have the two of them forming a new Generation X team that would be nice though.

Yeah I hope he will appear in the next issue because I think this series is supposed to end with the fifth issue.

I have doubts. I saw Rosenberg's Sabretooth in Phoenix Resurrection, and he came off exactly like Pak's Sabretooth. Gotta pass on that....

I forgot Phoenix Resurrection, I agree that wasn't that great unfortunately but with any luck now that Sabretooth is back to his older self Rosenberg will have him act like a professional and not like a buffoon, at least I hope so lol.

I'm currently not reading Uncanny X-Men (only read issue #11) but after looking at the solicits, Mystique is going to team up with Emma Frost so with any luck Creed will be on his own for a while, maybe Duggan or Brisson will write Sabretooth again soon or maybe he's going to be in the next Hickman saga, I hope the next solicits are going to give use some clues about what's in store for Creed.

Not a fan of what happened to Deadpool recently too although Young's run is ending soon, so maybe the next writer is going to do something great with Wade, the same way Duggan did after the terrible Way's run.

Not crazy about the art on him. But i'm picky. I have always liked when Creed had more attractive designs. #1 because it looks better. lol But it also makes him a more effective predator. The good-looking sociopaths are always more dangerous, because their looks is another weapon.

Plus if Creed is gonna have women hanging off him, he need not look like this. lol
    RCO020_1550749206.jpg

My favorite Creed designs still have these being undefeated.

Along with the fact I think these were all his best uniforms.

It's possible. I always praise Bunn for a great Sabretooth in Uncanny, but back when he was a villain, Bunn didn't treat him well either. In fact he was a fodder comedy joke for Magneto.

So maybe Rosenberg will be the reverse. But not getting my hopes up when it comes to Creed.

Well as mentioned by comeatmebro, BleedingCool released a rumor about a month ago saying that Greg Pak would be doing another series relating to Sabretooth. Again, giving him to the writer who had no real plans for him, and did very little when he had him for 2 years. So of all people to give a Sabretooth related book to, Idk why they picked him & not Brisson or possibly Bunn to wrap some stuff up.

So yeah. If that rumor is true, that's exactly why I don't get my hopes up with Creed. He's handled by too many writers who don't take him seriously, and when he starts to climb out of the hole he fell into, he gets snatched away, and thrown to another writer to shove him back in.

Not a fan of what happened to Deadpool recently too although Young's run is ending soon, so maybe the next writer is going to do something great with Wade, the same way Duggan did after the terrible Way's run.
Sadly even Deadpool has higher chances of being saved than Sabretooth. lol Young was another Daniel Way. So pass on him. The only issue I read after 1 was when Ellie came back.

But Deadpool had a good run with Duggan. He got to clean him up a bit for 6 years. Only thing I hated was Shiklah. She was to him what Mystique is to Sabretooth....Ugh. lol

Idk who the mystical writer will be to make Sabretooth great again, but I fear they're a good ways off. Maybe in the year 2060, we will have a good Sabretooth again. But a huge maybe. He may only get worse.

Yeah I think his look during parts of Tieri's Wolverine/Weapon X when he was on the run was perfect in my opinion. Something like this:

Plus if Creed is gonna have women hanging off him, he need not look like this. lol
    RCO020_1550749206.jpg
Lol at this image, reminds me of that scene from Weapon X when he had a talk with Scalphunter after playing russian roulette.

My favorite Creed designs still have these being undefeated.

Along with the fact I think these were all his best uniforms.
That costume he had during the Tieri's run is still amazing and my favourite!!!! But yeah the ones he had at the start of the Bunn's run and during Axis were good too.

It's possible. I always praise Bunn for a great Sabretooth in Uncanny, but back when he was a villain, Bunn didn't treat him well either. In fact he was a fodder comedy joke for Magneto.

Ouch, fortunately it was just a Sabretooth's clone lol but yeah let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Pak writing a Sabretooth mini? That would be disappointing, I mean even if I like what he recently did during the Hulkverines mini compared to Weapon X I'm not sure if giving him Sabretooth again is a good idea although I don't think he ever wrote the classic Sabretooth in the past before Axis so who knows.

Sadly even Deadpool has higher chances of being saved than Sabretooth. lol Young was another Daniel Way. So pass on him. The only issue I read after 1 was when Ellie came back.

I didn't like the end of Duggan's run on Deadpool, it felt rushed unfortunately but as a whole it was still good. Oh Ellie came back? Did Deadpool remembers her now?

I think someone who know both Sabretooth and Wolverine history could do wonder with him, someone like Duggan or Cates or just bring back Tieri that should do it lol. Now the big question is to know what are Marvel's plans with him, do they want him as an henchman? A criminal mastermind? An anti-hero?

Making him the leader of the Hand was a good move but it was too short and in the end it went nowhere unfortunately, they need to choose a direction for the character and stick with it for a while.

That's always a good case. Any horrific Sabretooth, call it a clone. lol I'd like to think every bad showing of Creed since 2003 was a clone. Even the AXIS version, all clones. The real was in filthy rich in Hawaii relaxing while running a crime business, and hasn't faced the X-Men in years. lol

It may be a maxi. So far, it's only a rumor. BC has been wrong before, but they called a good bit of stuff right too. So it's a waiting game to see when solicits or an announcement is gonna come up.

Pak said he was doing another book & at least one character from Weapon X would appear in it. So we got that too.

If all that's true & connects, it's possible this will be the official ending to his Weapon X run since the ending seemed rushed as Hell. Plus Weapon X got cut short. Gold & Blue both made it to 36 issues, and WX had to be finished at 27. So a maxi series of 9+ issues may be fair to give it a proper ending.

I didn't like the end of Duggan's run on Deadpool, it felt rushed unfortunately but as a whole it was still good. Oh Ellie came back? Did Deadpool remembers her now?
Deadpool didn't remember her. But she seemed to have forgiven him and spent the issue trying to help him. In a way.

I agree with Duggan's ending. The Despicable Deadpool was not good. The only issue I really liked was the issue with Rogue. Where she & Wade get the perfect closure to their relationship. Duggan had a bad start & finish, but everything in the center was good, imo.

I think anti-hero is out. They reverted him, and didn't allow him to have any lasting development when he was one. So we definitely got villain Creed back.I wrote to the X-Office so much about Creed's declined status, MAYBE they'll consider fixing him. But I doubt it. lol

Making him the leader of the Hand was a good move but it was too short and in the end it went nowhere unfortunately, they need to choose a direction for the character and stick with it for a while.
Sadly they don't let any of the good stuff with potential stick.

Any time he moved up the ladder in villainy, they knocked him back down.
Bunn had great stuff planned for him in Uncanny. Such as his slow fall back into villainy, and how dark it would've been. Scrapped
He finally had a decent love interest with Monet. Scrapped. And back to Mystique we know.

That's my headcanon, no way the Sabretooth from the Tieri's run is the same as the one we got in recent years, that's not possible.

I see, yeah it would makes sense and I agree that ending was rushed and I'm still not sure what was the point of bringing Graydon back. I mean how many times did this guy come back already? X-Force by Kyle/Yost, Claws of A killer by Tamaki and now Weapon X by Pak, did someone really ask to bring this guy back? I always found him to be terrible character to be honest.

Ah thanks at least they made peace, I always liked the dynamic between them. And yeah Despicable Deadpool started well but oh boy that ending was really bad, just people puking everywhere and Deadpool removng his memories to bring him back closer to the Way's characterization. Also the whole plot with Stryfe went nowhere and the fight between Deadpool and Juggernaut wasn't good at all.

I do agree though, apart the beginning and the ending, his run was really good and Sabretooth characterization was nice too be it in the present or in the flashblacks.

I think anti-hero is out. They reverted him, and didn't allow him to have any lasting development when he was one. So we definitely got villain Creed back.I wrote to the X-Office so much about Creed's declined status, MAYBE they'll consider fixing him. But I doubt it. lol
Yeah anti-hero is done for, but at least I hope Jordan White has some plans for Creed beyond having him being a cannon fodder. Not sure what's his opinion on the character so I don't know which direction they will take him.

And that's a shame, because Creed should play in the big league and not being used as an henchman anymore, it doesn't make any sense. The guy is an immortal warrior who has been alive for almost 200 years, he has oustmarted Sinister and the X-Men and he became the invisible king of Asia and ruler of the Hand, you can't have him go back to just being an obedient dog, it doesn't work for me.

Bunn may be one of the unluckiest writer that worked on the X-Books, he never had any freedom to do what he wanted be it on Uncanny X-Men or X-Men Blue and in the end he couldn't finish his plot which is a shame. I still hope the new editors give him another chance on an X-Title, if he could replace Young on Deadpool that would be amazing.

On a similar note, Sabretooth took Old Man Logan's clothes in that Uncanny cover. lol

Yeah that's the one, Scalphunter is such a troll!
Another of the old classics we don't see. Miss him, Wraith, and Shard.

I don't mind the fur but yeah sometimes it looks ridiculous, and lmao at this costume a.k.a the jobbing costume, he always got his ass kicked while wearing this thing lol.

    Just one example. lol

Sadly after Tierri, Sabretooth had a final hurrah in Mary Shelley Overdrive and off the wagon he fell. He had his low points of jobbing in the 90's, but they were limited to occasional moments, rather than his default setting like it is now.

I'm not sure. I assume there may be plans for him, otherwise yeah. What was the point. It's similar with Deadpool & Monet. Both were in that last arc, but if you took them out, you wouldn't miss anything. So why were they there? Unless Pak really does have a proper ending coming with that supposed Sabretooth-related book, then a lot of stuff in that series seemed useless.

Deadpool is a cash-grab character, so his A-lister status probably got him a seat. I love Monet, but shes more' a B-lister. Certainly not a character MARVEL would think to throw in a book to gain popularity. Obvious answer says she was back due to her bond with Creed, but it wasn't too important there. Pak used it for comedy issues 23+ 24. It got great focus in issue 24, then stalled out the rest of the book with no progression, closure, or anything.

So that arc had lots of questionable characters included. Maybe the Hickman deal coming will revamp the series, and he wanted to bring back an older villain like Graydon. Maybe he'll be the new Stryker.

Hickman has been in talks for a while I hear, and he is a very big name for Marvel. So, who knows how much stuff is being set up for him redoing the X-line and giving it a Morrison change.

Yeah, Duggan's DP was good. I wanted him to write those two meeting again before his run ended, but no luck. Lol when Creed eats at the diner and says he wants his next steak mooing.

He's pretty active on twitter. I like some of his posts, and sent tweets on X-Monday stuff. But I never asked how he felt regarding Creed as a villain. I tend to avoid it because I am afraid of the answer. If he does answer. lol

Probably not helping that Creed is surrounded by dogs in the Uncanny cover. lol I hope he's not working for them.

Yeah. Frankly I found his ideas about Uncanny more interesting than anything else coming out right now. I always like to hear more of what he had planned.

    Lol so true!

Maybe Marvel is going to bring some old classic characters back for Hickman's big saga, it could be interesting.

Yeah I really didn't like how he was written in this mini or during most of the Logan Legacy/Wolverines stuff it was terrible especially at the end of Wolverines.

Sadly after Tierri, Sabretooth had a final hurrah in Mary Shelley Overdrive and off the wagon he fell. He had his low points of jobbing in the 90's, but they were limited to occasional moments, rather than his default setting like it is now.
Mary Shelly Overdrive was really good, but yeah beyond that it wasn't that great for Sabretooth. He got some good moments during the Rucka/Aaron Wolverine's run, Duggan's Deadpool, Remender's UXF, Brisson's Iron Fist or Bunn's Ucanny but each time there was something good with him, we also some terrible stories not long afterwards like Way/Loeb's Wolverine stuff or Austen's X-Men which is a shame.

Honestly, it was so nice to see Tieri back during the Deadpool wedding issue even if it was just for a short flashback with Sabretooth trolling both Deadpool and Mystique:

Monet because he wanted to close this chapter and Deadpool because he never wrote him before and to boost the sales numbers but yeah in the end they didn't have any meaningful roles and it went nowhere except for Monet who got a new haircut I guess lol.

Having Sabretooth going to hell and confronting his past deeds was a good idea but I didn't like this whole Stryker/demon plot but who knows maybe you're right and Graydon will have a role during Hickman's saga. Maybe it's a similar situation to what happened in the 2000s where Lobdell came back on X-Men in order to finish most of the plotlines (Legacy virus, neo, Magneto's war) in order to let Morrison do his own stuff, so it could be interesting.

In any case the whole X-Men franchise really needs a shot in the arm, it becomes a big mess and Marvel giving Hickman the reigns of the X-Men's franchise is a step in the right direction that's for sure.

Yeah, Duggan's DP was good. I wanted him to write those two meeting again before his run ended, but no luck. Lol when Creed eats at the diner and says he wants his next steak mooing.

Ah nice! The interactions between Wade and Creed were amazing during that story, Duggan really managed to do something interesting with the inversion.

He's pretty active on twitter. I like some of his posts, and sent tweets on X-Monday stuff. But I never asked how he felt regarding Creed as a villain. I tend to avoid it because I am afraid of the answer. If he does answer. lol
Lol it can't be worse than what happened those last few years but seriously with the War of the Realms coming soon, maybe he's going to tell us a little more about the direction they want to take Sabretooth.

Probably not helping that Creed is surrounded by dogs in the Uncanny cover. lol I hope he's not working for them.
Lmao, if that happened I'm going to be really disappointed.

Yeah. Frankly I found his ideas about Uncanny more interesting than anything else coming out right now. I always like to hear more of what he had planned.
He really had some good ideas, maybe one day Marvel will give him a Sabretooth mini to write, it could be fun.
