    Thialfi was awesome, I wish someone brought him back to use, because he's not even dead, he just stopped being used after Jurgens left.

    An interesting aspect of that Hulk/Thor skirmish from Incredible Hulk #300 is that the other Avengers were essentially shrugged off by Hulk, and it was up to Thor to contain him with the others sitting on the sidelines. It's the exact opposite in the modern era where Thor would take a beating initially setting up some Macguffin save-the-day moment by a few low-level characters. I always found the latter scenario silly because when you're dealing with herald-level characters some of the other lower tier ones should be taking a backseat.

    Talking Happy Thor's Day!

    Thor #229 Nov 1974
    "Where Darkness Dwells, Dwell I!"
    Both Thor and Hercules have returned to Earth, but while Thor flies overhead, Hercules hears a cry for help;
    He rushes to it, only to see an old man attacked by a robber;
    Hercules chases him down, only to return just in time to see the old man kill himself;

    A police detective tells Thor and Hercules about how several people have gone insane lately and killed themselves;
    Hercules storms off by himself, but is captured by a mysterious shadowy figure;
    He later manages to barely return to Thor, only to collapse in front of him.

    Script by Gerry Conway, pencils by Rich Buckler, inks by Chic Stone

    Why is Jane Thor instead of Valkyrie on that?

    Terrific Production, the new publishers of Youngblood, have announced... Thor? I guess that's the trouble with public domain characters, they can't stop another company doing their own version!

    What would you guys say are the best issues from the Thor run of 1966-1996 (#126-502)?

    My choices:

    10. Thor #266 (December, 1977) - "...So Falls the Realm Eternal!"

    9. Thor #491 (October, 1995) - "Nailed Up"

    8. Thor #161 (February, 1969) - "Shall a God Prevail?"

    7. Thor #159 (December, 1968) - "The Answer at Last!"

    6. Thor #228 (October, 1974) - "Ego: Beginning and End!"

    5. Thor #300 (October, 1980) - "Twilight of the Gods!"

    4. Thor #366 (April, 1986) - "Sir!"

    3. Thor #340 (February, 1984) - "Though Hel Should Bar the Way!"

    2. Thor #380 (June, 1987) - "Mjolnir's Song"

    1. Thor #353 (March, 1985) - "Doom II"

    Probably because when you think of Aaron's Thor run, you think JaneThor instead of Valkyrie.

    Some good old ego stroking.
    I think an easy way to look at Thanos stories is that anything written by Jim Starlin, Ron Marz and Keith Giffen is the real Thanos while anything written by other authors should be dismissed as a Thanosi clone.

    Because many people enjoy seeing the ''boring OP character'' getting a beating while the more ''grounded and relatable'' characters are triumphant. It's a problem that plagued characters like Supes since Spider-Man became a thing
