I'd say a magic school is arguably the best way to keep a better lid on magic than just letting random people run around with no supervision.

It would make sense that some of the more responsible magical practitioners (Dr. Fate, Zatanna, etc.) would want to gather together people and educate them in not 'calling up what ye can not put downe' or similar 'do not agree to *any* deals with Neron' type shenanigans. Adding some supernatural critters, or supernaturally afflicted (by curses, or 'critter' infections like lycanthropy or vampirism) folk, would only make sense, as they are part of the 'supernatural community,' even if not young workers of magic. School projects could include a field trip to do an exorcism, or to a site of a great historical magical working (what could go wrong?).

There'd be, naturally, the expected infiltrators from evil cults of Trigon-worshippers or whatever. But, plot twist, one of said infiltrators falls in lurve with one of the regular students, and wants to defect. That sounds like it would end about as well as expected...

That's kind of what I was thinking about. You described way better than I could.

The 2011 volume drops below 30k with #14.
I think the 2018 volume will probably see a slower rate of attrition than the 2011 volume, providing it continues having a stable creative team.
Also, note that the 2011 volume was returnable up to #8, so those issues had inflated sales numbers because returned copies are still counted.

I was wondering if I could get anyone's thoughts on the character Lourdes Lucero aka La Encantadora. She was a Superman villain who possessed the "Mists of Ibella", a mystical mist that granted her magical powers of teleportation, pheremone manipulation and illusions. She did eventually decide to go straight.

I watched and enjoyed the first and final season of Swamp Thing. I really liked how they handled it and was surprised to see spoilers:
    Blue Devil
end of spoilers. I can't help but feel there were future plans for him.

Since there's a thread going on about who the face of DC's magic side should be I thought I'd ask: Is there like a list of DC's magic heroes?
