If you haven't read it Kyle's run have both Kyle and John interact a lot. John became Kyle's mentor pretty much since Hal was not himself.

I think it is way too subjective. Personally, I like Kyle more, because I can relate to him more, and because he has been developed more than John. But I think there are certain roles that fit John much better than Kyle.

DC has collected Kyle's run in trade papaerback. I think they have two of them so far. You could find them on Amazon or Barnes and noble.

If your looking for single issues Kyle's run starts with Green Lantern Vol.2 issue 51. The first writers run goes until, about issue 130.

It REALLY started with #74. Kyle joined the fight against Grayven (son of Darkseid) with the Darkstars (which John was leading at the time)
John from then on was a supporting character and Judd Winick used him to great effect during his run too.
