By the way, any further discussion about any possible return of the JSA should really be done in the following thread:
The Justice Society of America Finally Returns
    (https://community.cbr.com/showthread...inally-Returns)

Meanwhile, going back to celebrating the original Justice Society of America, from All Star Comics #29 (June-July 1946)

For July 4th (Independence Day here in the U.S.), the cover from All-Star Comics #22 (Fall 1944) seemed appropriate.

Found it on Deviant art. I think the artist is Raymond Lee.

While I'm also waiting (impatiently) for that, part of me is also afraid that their "return" may also involve unnecessary "updating".

I've seen DC screw the JSA over too many times in the past to have complete confidence in how they'll handle this.

Yep. Alex Ross definitely knows how to make a profound and awe-inspiring image:

Strated reading the All Star comics revival from the 70's and though the first story with Brainwave was just OK, after that it's been so good. Gerry Conway does not dissapoint.

The introduction of Power girl is cool. Wildcats aggressive atitude is entertaining. Dr Fates death and revival was great. Just a good, fun series so far.

And this re introduction of the Golden age Superman gave me the chills.

I have to say that recently with DC's current comics I have totally lost interest in their comics and the DCU. Which is weird because I've been a super DC fan for so long.

Thank God I decided to go back and read the old stuff. These great DC comics have me so excited about this universe again and is a reminder why I fell in love with DC. And Didio is upset that fans prefer the old stuff.

Out of curiosity, I decided to research the first time Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman all appeared together on the same cover, and it seems to be All-Star Comics #36 (August 1947).

Well, we're still not sure if this is a true "Golden Age Justice Society of America" yet because some minor things are still a bit off. (Like Starman was Hourman's replacement in the JSA, and Wildcat's first appearance in an All-Star Comics' JSA story was three issues after Sandman's and Doctor Fate's last Golden Age appearances in JSA stories.
Plus, Doctor Fate had already switched to his half-helmet look for JSA stories in the same issue when Starman became a member.) Now, whether DC is just retooling the past, or going with more "iconic looks" for characters, or whatever is going on, who knows?
