That doesn't actually sound that bad. Sure you could criticize DiDio's policies, and he definitely has written a fair share of mediocre comics (Outsiders), from my experience most of his bibliography is quite good. He wrote a pretty great Omac run at the commencement of the new 52 and his Metal Men was the best part of Wednesday Comics.

Nah it’s more he wants Batman to constantly be “badass” and never ever wants to see him lose a fight or get beaten up by another character or not have the upper hand over someone else. Kinda smacks of classic self-insertion to me.
