First saw him in Super Friends
First read him in New 52

He's hot, cool, fierce, tough, but patient

Also, even though I saw him in Super Friends, I didn't grow up on people mocking him for what he did in Super Friends, so for all I know he's never been a joke. I only know he's considered a joke when I read up reviews that the New 52 is addressing it.

New 52 made me love his character, and since he hadn't been retooled to fit older eras so far, I'm really, really digging him since Rebirth too. It's basically the same stories following each others since 2011.

I just want to see Rise of the Seven Seas in comics some day !

It's official: Aquaman is the biggest DC Extended Universe movie ever

This is really cool and I'm glad it's Arthur who is getting this boost. It's really fun to see so many people falling in love with the character despite the jokes that have forever followed him in popular media.

I'm glad to see all of the success that the Aquaman movie has received. I think this pretty much guarantees a sequel will be in the works. I hope the comics can continue with the great writing. I've been enjoying Aquaman since the reboot.
We are the Dora Milaje. We are the daughters of the 18 tribes of Wakanda. We are the teeth of the Panther God. Out of 10,000 years of sweat and bloodshed and battle are we born. We are the women of this ancient land. Deadliest of the species. And our time has come!

It's great that of all the DC characters it's Aquaman who is the most successful. For years the character suffered from jokes and yet ironically now he is a huge success.

I grew up with Aquaman in the Super Friends and his run in Adventure Comics in the 1970s. I don't think he became a joke until the 2000s when shows like Family Guy would parody him.

Can't honestly call myself an Aquaman fan, certainly not to the level of Superman, or Wonder Woman, or even the Flash or Green Lantern, as I'm more familiar with each of those franchises.

My exposure to Aquaman began, as it did for most Gen Xers, with the SUPER-FRIENDS cartoon. Aquaman didn't estimator shine there.

My next exposure was Peter David's post-Crisis solo series in the 1990s. Stuck around for more than a few issues. Even got into Erik Larsen's run for a bit.

So the Aquaman I'm used to always had the long hair and beard:

Haven't followed since those days. And now his new movie kicks all kinds of ass:

So, well, I'm open to learning more.

Question: what is Aquaman's 1st COVER appearance? What issue?

Been reading Peter David's Aquaman on DC Universe for the first time and I have to say it's been amazing so far. Even though i have read The Atlantis Chronicles and Time & Tide years ago. It's pretty cool seeing how it all started and how his work really set the tone for future runs. The art is gorgeous imo.

I'm gonna have to assume that Koryak is the son of Kako from the miniseries. I mean she's Alaskan and so is he. It would make sense.
Imagine being proud to have negative traits. I can’t relate.

DC: Justice League, The Flash, Justice League Dark, Superman, Action Comics, Green Arrow, Justice League Odyssey, The Terrifics, Teen Titans, Titans, Brimstone, Female Furies, Damage, Heroes In Crisis

Marvel: The Punisher, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Venom, X-23, Cloak and Dagger, Jessica Jones, Sentry

Indies: Unnatural, Jeepers Creepers, Project Superpowers, Black Hammer, Ninja-K

    That's a pretty famous cover.

His first comic appearance was More Fun Comics #73.

His first solo cover appearance was from Aquaman #1 in 1962, I believe.
