And it re-established the idea of a "Wonder Woman" back with the JSA in the Golden Age!

    Here's a question I have.

Back in the Golden age comics were anthologys with no one hero popular enough at that point to have a solo comic let alone have his name in the title.

Superman first appeared in Action comics 1. Batman in Detective comics 27. Wonder Woman in Sensational comics 1. Green Lantern in All American comics 16. Ect.

Yet Flash's first appearance was in Flash comics 1. Why is that?
My name is Wally West. I"m the fastest man alive. I"m the Flash.

    Favorite Heroes - 1-Flash/Wally West, 2-Superman, 3-Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, 4-Nightwing, 5-Hawkman, 6-Firestorm, 7-Supergirl/Linda Danvers, 8-Zatanna, 9-Robin/Tim Drake

In Jay's case, the "Flash" in "Flash Comics" was probably just an adjective, like "Sensation Comics", "More Fun Comics", "Smash Comics" (from Quality), etc.
Jay (as The Flash) wasn't always the cover feature for every issue of "Flash Comics". Hawkman eventually alternated with Jay for that spot.

Huh, I never thought of it that way. You’re right.

This issue came yesterday from the eBay fairy. John Bryne writes a fantastic Jay Garrick! This would never happen but I would love for him to have an on-going or mini- series that is based on Jay's younger days.

John Byrne is an amazing talent. Miss that guy. Wish he was still around.

I would love to see that. Most people just know Jay as the JSA Flash but a mini to define Jay more would be great.

I wouldn't say never. They would make him the "old" Flash who is not really around so he wouldn't be a threat to Barry and Didio wouldn't get his fragile sensibilities out of whack. So it could work.

Never read that story . . . maybe I'll stumble across a copy of it some day.

It was a fantastic story about Jay going up against the Fiddler in his prime. It actually set up the story Bryne wrote in his Wonder Woman run, where Jay went back in time.
