Quicksilver: Pietro Maximoff Appreciation 2019

This year has seen a few very intriguing omens since word came down the Disney deal is going to be finalized. Added up together, it becomes very clear that Marvel comics is moving to undo the Axis retcon. But I would prefer an issue cover or better yet an official announcement that it’s being undone before I go out and get that bottle of rosé.

Still, it’s great to see toys being made for the twins as well as X-characters in general. I might get this set as my birthday present to myself.

So let's make it official, which version of Pietro did Quicksilver fans on here like better?

Tho I found things to like in both portrayals, my vote goes to the MCU's, overall.

Despite his ill-advised, untimely demise, I thought Aaron Taylor-Johnson embodied him better:

Neither depiction was of a Pietro i'd recognize from these comics though. I think we may be being hoodwinked!

I understand that we all have differing interpretations of these characters but jeez, can we stick to the script for just a little bit.

That's why I think animations are so much better to depict these characters, less ego's to navigate through

I will say TAS Pietro is my first choice.

I love that original silvery/blue costume and his silvery hair with wings. Just the most classic to me, even though, yes, I know the green costume WATX is actually the first costume, but it has been tweaked slightly. So TAS #1 for me.

I will say TAS Pietro is my first choice. ...

For me, TAS' portrayal was too generic, if memory serves right. In both the Iceman/X-Factor episode, and the one with Wanda/Wundagore. Evo, and WatXM even more so, nailed that distinct, problematic personality Pietro is prone to, with much more panache. But nevertheless, that's only IMO, and all votes count:

That sounds like a team that I imagine could take down foes by simply raising a collective eyebrow, when they weren’t throwing shade at each other. Throw in Magneto, Aurora, and Monet, and you have a roster guaranteed to bring interesting storylines from the team’s interpersonal relationships alone. You would need to have at least one light-hearted character to break up all that haughtiness and hot air, of course. Maybe Deadpool? It could be a new X-Force or some kind of extinction team so they could really cut loose as characters and with their powers.

I've somehow missed this haha but I'm not sure even Deadpool would be up to the task.

Have Pietro and Jean Paul ever met? I always thought they would make great friends.
