Yeah sadly. He was antagonistic against Apocalypse. He punched him and Apoc easily caught the punch. It all did not show him as more then a impulse driven dude who Apocalypse considers beneath him. If they are to continue their distrust then Gambit needs to deliver on his threats or outplay Apocalypse. As it is now all are vary of Apoc but none so openly as Gambit.

It’s though when Apoc is suppose to be this very powerful mutant. Still they have to let Gambit look competent too. As it is now Apoc is clearly more “favored”. Let’s see how it plays out. Tini though must be aware that she only has so many issues of showing all the cast members Before readers leave.

We wonder, makes us wonder, we suspect, may still be a part of him, certainly could go a long way towards.... etc. I doubt that writer of this aricle really knows anything about future Excalibur srories or plans.

We can only speculate, but this is PR directly from Marvel, and very much reads like the writer has been given specific talking points. It wouldn't make sense for Marvel to have wild guesses about their comics on their own site. The writer is purposely being vague ("wonder," "suspect") because they obviously don't want to spoil.

Gambit is still death

I am all in for Gambit to be Death again if he is treated as a threat to Apocalypse's plan to bring back his original Horseman. Except for Captain Britain, I can see the remaining 4 members being turned into Horseman when they reach the otherworld to fight Morgan's Magic.

The only way I would be into the idea of Gambit as Death again - is if his powers are an extension of him. Not gas powers. That joke by the Marvel Dept was not only crass but got old fast and stupid because it never made sense. It was offensive in more ways than one. IMO
