A question about Gambit:

Is his hypnotic power canonical and official?

Depends on what you mean by canon. It has been listed in official marvel material and there are scenes from the comics that suggest it is a power but it has never been explicitly stated so people are free to arrive at their own conclusions.

The hypnotic power was used very few times, and only time that I recall memorable which was his first appearance where he got the bad guys to listen to him and Shadow King was impressed with this ability. Not long after, it was not used much if at all. UXM 266, I think. I'm certain someone will correct me if I'm wrong. It was when he rescued a de-aged Storm.

Ok, just looked through it. There are, unfortunately, no interviews from what I could find. They did put the variant covers throughout (like Bachalo's #1 variant) and a couple pencils+inks of Issue 16 in the back, though, so that's kind of cool. All-in-all, I'm pretty happy with it, though!

Well this was an interesting and fun script. I would have watched this movie even if I wasn't a Gambit fan. This clearly shows that a Gambit movie can have a nice tone independent of the other X-Movies.
