That's sounds more like Feige than Fox which is the definition of corporate and has been since they threw Alan Ladd Jr. for allowing Lucas to keep his franchise rights.
Say what you want, but all X-Men movies are great and meaningful. Heck, even "X-Men Origins", despite some obvious screenplay problems and a less dramatic approach, is a fun movie with some impressive scenes, as well as capturing the "spirit" of the early Wolverine solo issues.
