Spiderfang, please can you add New Warriors (2014) to your list of books?

Remember when Kaine was an evil version of The Dude?

I couldn't agree with you more, on both counts.

PS I love Kaine. He has evolved into such a great character from his one-dimensional beginnings.

Kaine does not wait. Kaine abides.

That aside, yeah, looking forward to seeing a new Scarlet Spider series starring him (preferably him and Ben, with them finally getting to a place where they can relate more positively to each other while also dealing what's transpired between them in the past). Could also tie into what Chris Yost was foreshadowing with the rise of Mictlan, the Aztec underworld, and Kaine's part in it as Aracely's Champion, my idea for incorporating Ben into it being that he's forced to become Mictlan's Champion as his punishment for tampering with the dead back in The Clone Conspiracy. Speaking of clones and Chris Yost's foreshadowing, I did like the bond starting to develop between Kaine and Water Snake in the last New Warriors series, especially given Yost's intentions for her character if the series had lasted long enough and how Kaine might've likely reacted.

I prefer Kaine and hummingbird as brother/sister because that bond in comics is more permanent than romantic relationships. I would like to see silk and Kaine having some sort of relationship because of how different they are. For example, silk is someone new and excited to see the world while Kaine has unfortunately seen too much of its darkness. It’d work with Silk being the one to teach Kaine how to see things more positively while not taking any of his brooding seriously and Kaine being tsundere with silk on every turn.
Of course this is my opinion, marvel is probably going to make silk hate Kaine like they did with spider-Woman after spidergeddon

    This actually makes sense.
Would have said Annabelle (think that was her name) from the Houston series.
Those first few issues were really good and it should have continued - in that vein.
The only thing is people will draw comparisons between Annabelle and MJ...

I think she is around twenty (give or take a year), I could be wrong. Either way, Kaine's chronological age (given all his deaths, resurrections and mutations) is probably mid-twenties or less as Peter is only twenty-eight at most so the difference in age wouldn't be that great between Kaine and Hummingbird.

You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

    That's a good one.

As for Hummingbird's age, given the old saw of Marvel time being one year in-universe for every four real-world years and her age being explicitly stated as 16 years old in Chris Yost's Scarlet Spider/New Warriors run, she could have aged to 18 by this point. That being said, I do prefer Kaine as her platonic champion and guardian and not necessarily making her a love interest, though if I had to ship Aracely (Hummingbird) with someone, I could go for "Charlie"/Spider-Kid, the young delinquent A/U Peter Parker from Christopher Priest's Spider-Force, a tie-in to Spider-Geddon that Kaine had a major role in as well. Pretty much all of Kaine's grouchy, bitter cynicism (and a similar if more "mundane" story of parental abuse) in the body of a young teenage version of Peter/himself. It writes itself, almost.
