Blade vs the Shadow Colonel in Avengers#17 was awesome.
Shadow Colonel was a tremendous and powerful challenge to Blade but the story was writen well.And i am intrigued to read more about Blade in the Avengers.

I think Man-Thing can create portals to travel through, but don't know about Boy-Thing.

Odd question, I know, but does anyone else think Blade might have been partially based on the Peter Cushing Van Helsing? They share a very similar bone structure and jawline.





Perhaps I'm overthinking the whole thing, but he does look kind of like a black version of Cushing.

based on all the interviews from Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman I'd say no. I'd say that was just Colan's style.

I don't think in terms of looks, no, but Cushing's Van Helsing was a major influence on how later Van Helsing type characters behave and look. He made vampire hunters look and suave AF. So with that in mind, I think he did have some influence on Blade.

Blade was inspired by blokes like Richard Roundtree(a.k.a. Shaft) , and Jim Brown from that era than Peter Cushing. As pointed out in the following video about the first BLADE movie.
