Surge, from the Winter Guard. He got his powers when he went into the facility during the incident. It's been the back drop for a ton of movies and TV shows before everyone became an expert on the subject from watching the HBO mini series. From Transformers 3. Season 4 of Teen Wolf. A Good Day To Die Hard. Godzilla '98. Millenium. The X-Files. River Monsters. And even used as filming location for the fourth an fifth installments of Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5. And not to mention the Chernobyl Diaries. Honestly ,no one has had a problem before.

Giant Size Chillers Featuring Dracula #1 Jun 1974
Origin and first appearance of Lilith (Dracula's daughter) in"Night of the She-Demon"
Events of this issue happen between Tomb of Dracula #22 and 23...

Dracula has returned to London, England, and his first stop is the British Parliament where he pays a visit to Lord Henry,
a politician under his thrall to discuss matters. He requests the Lord work into getting him
diplomatic immunity so that he is no longer haunted by the police while operating in Britain.
Dracula then begins discussing the acquisition of a castle just outside of London, one owned by Shiela Whittier.

Up north from London is a cemetery where a grave begins to stir for the first time in 30 years.
Not too far away is the home of Martin O'Hara, who is once more doling out punishment on his daughter Angela,
who is getting punished for allowing her boyfriend Ted Hannigan to get her pregnant out of wedlock.
Ted tries to stop Martin from hitting his daughter anymore, and is knocked aside. He dies from a fatal blow to the head.
As Angela cries over the death of her lover, the spirit of Lilith, the daughter of Dracula
rises from a nearby grave and takes possession of her body. Changing Angela's body into her own form,

Lilith then attacks and feeds upon Martin before flying off in bat form.

While at the home of Quincy Harker, Quincy receives a phone call from
Frank Drake and Rachel van Helsing who report that Dracula has been killed in an explosion.
Quincy reports this good news back to Taj, who silently retires to his room where he finds a letter from his homeland in India,
it's contents prompting him to pack his things and leave to return to his mother country.
A short while later, Lilith arrives at the home of Quincy Harker, taking on the form of an innocent woman,
she knocks on the door and asks Quincy for help, with a fake story about her father dying.
When Quincy has his back turned to her, Lilith resumes her vampire form and feeds upon him, then leaves.

Later that same night, Dracula arrives at Castle Dunwick, the home of Shiela Whittier.
Entering the estate, Dracula rouses Shiela, a woman with mysterious scars all over her back.
She comes to find out who is in her home and finds Dracula greeting her with a purposeful smile.

While elsewhere in London town, Lilith frequents the Red Bull Tavern, where she picks up a man and makes him her next victim.
With the discovery of the bodies, Inspector Chelm pays a visit to the home of Quincy Harker to tell him
of what has transpired to find Quincy alive but unconscious. He has his men call for an ambulance.

Back at the home of Shiela Whittier, Shiela completely submits to Dracula thinking that he is one of her former tormentors.
Dracula assures her that he is not, and tries to inquire about her whippings, however Shiela changes the subject.
When Dracula tells her that he must go, she tries to convince him to stay, but he does not.
Upon exiting the manor, Dracula spots another vampire bat flying in the sky, recognizing it as his daughter Lilith.

Surprised that she is alive once more, Dracula follows after her across the countryside to London.
He follows her to a football game and confronts her.
The two talk about their past together, about how he does not care for her
as she was the daughter of a forced marriage to a woman named Zofia.
Zofia, centuries ago was thrown out of Dracula's palace where she would take her daughter Lilith to Lianda, the gypsy woman
who would eventually turn Dracula into a vampire. When Dracula would get revenge against her by feasting upon Lianda's own son,

Lianda would cast a spell that would turn Lilith into a vampire that was bent on causing her father as much trouble as possible.

With the reflection over, Lilith asks Dracula to drop their grudge toward one another
and asks him to form an alliance so that they can rule vampires together.
Having other more pressing concerns, Dracula rejects this idea and leaves by changing into bat form.

With Dracula's departure, Lilith vows to get revenge against Dracula.

As Quincy Harker recovers in the hospital, Dracula returns back to the home of Shiela Whittier just in time to save her from a fall down the stairs.
He learns that someone is in the house and has been tormenting her. Rushing upstairs he finds his slave Lord Henry,
who tells his master that he has been brought to do horrible things. Admitting to being the one who tormented and tortured Shiela,
he pulls a gun out and kills himself, unable to find any other way to stop from doing it ever again.

Oddly, I think it was HBO's Chernobyl miniseries that made Chernobyl a slightly more revered spot. It's hard to joke about it now compared to back in the day.

    Writer: FRANK TIERI
    Artist: To be announced

Tomb of Dracula #24 Sep 1974
"A Night for the Living, a Morning for the Dead!"
Standing on a bridge over the Thames River, Frank Drake reflects with Rachel van Helsing
about how three years ago he attempted to commit suicide on the very same bridge they stood on.
Frank wonders if he really should have been grateful that both Rachel and Taj were there to save him.
Frank, still believing that Dracula is dead, wonders what to do with his life.

Unknown to Drake and van Helsing, Dracula is alive and well searching the streets of London for another fresh victim,
while his new familiar Shiela Whittier, completely unaware of Dracula's true nature waits for him in her manor estate.
Elsewhere in London, Blade the vampire hunter returns to the apartment that he shares with Saffron
to find that a vampire has broken in and is attempting to feed upon Saffron.

    Blade easily destroys her attacker.

Shortly thereafter, they are visited by Trudy, a woman who works as a showgirl with Saffron.
Trudy needs to talk to Blade about a strange encounter she had earlier that night:
That she performed before an audience, and among the crowd was the vampire lord Dracula.
Dracula would seduce her and eventually attempt to feed upon her, however she managed
to get away by placing a crucifix on his forehead causing him to jump back in blistering pain.
She then fled the scene only to be stalked by Dracula in his bat form.
When she tried to go to the police for help, they would refuse her aid,
and the only other person she could think to seek for help was Saffron's boyfriend, Blade.

With the story over, Blade agrees to help and agrees to go out looking for Dracula.
Putting on his vampire hunting gear, Blade goes out into the night streets and is soon attacked by Dracula in his bat form.
Dracula knocks him down into the street with a car speeding toward him.
While in India, Taj Nitall visits his wheelchair bound wife, who is pleased that he has come.
The silent vampire hunter strikes his wife across the face and walks out on her.

Back in London, Blade battles Dracula across the city. Their fight takes them to a sporting goods store.
Dracula is forced to retreat when Blade manages to partially impale the vampire lord in the chest with a broken ski pole,
and then later with one of his wooden daggers. With the battle over, Scotland Yard lets Blade walk away from the scene,

and he returns home to Saffron and Trudy and tells them he'll explain everything in the morning.

Meanwhile, back at Castle Dunwick, Dracula returns home to wish Shiela Whittier
a good night before going to his coffin for a good nights sleep. While outside of the Harker estate,
Frank Drake decides that he has to leave to figure out who he is and departs but not before giving Rachel van Helsing a farewell kiss.

Drac being the Big Bad for Blade's MCU debut has been in the Twittersshphere for quite awhile. Nina Price, a.k.a. Vampire By Night is a new one. been a fan of the Kim Kardashian of the vampire set since reading her debut in Amazing Fantasy awhile back. Seems like a bit out of left field. You sure the reports aren't talking about her uncle, Jack Russel ? Although it would be interesting seeing a publicly known celebatarb being the Daywalker's target. Having to deal with her fans trying to stop him from doing her in.

We got this covered is pretty hit and miss (especially this far out), but if those are the characters, I'd bet the plot would be a spin on the first issue of "sins of the father" with vampires overtaking a faction of SHIELD, and we see Blade go against the Howling Commandos.

I really do think itd be weird to have Dracula in the very first movie. Like what are you building to in the second?

Deacon Frost. A little closer to the original concept of the one who killed Blade's mother. Maybe the mad scientist type from the anime series.

That's what I mean though, like this requires that you scale down. Unless they go even bigger...maybe make Damnation or Spirits of Vengeance a Blade movie.

Tomb of Dracula #25 Oct 1974
"Night of the Blood Stalker!" First appearance of Hannibal King
A woman named Adrianne Brown Walters enters the London office of private investigator Hannibal King.
She wants King to investigate the murder of her newlywed husband,
Fred Walters, whom she believes was killed by an otherworldly beast.
Adrianne describes the case in detail, including the fact that she witnessed a man
bite her husband across the throat before disappearing out of sight.
King automatically knows that Adrianne is describing the actions of a vampire.
He goes down to the "Lucky Inn" and begins asking questions.
The bartender invites Hannibal into the back parlor where he subsequently attacks him.

King easily beats the man down, and discovers two small bite marks on the man's neck.
The bartender is obviously in service to a vampire.

King begins investigating Fred Walters' employers, Wyandanch Limited.
Walters worked as an accountant for their international shipping interests.
He sneaks into the dockside shipping office where he encounters Dracula conspiring with one of his underlings.
Dracula turns to attack him, and King fires a gunshot into the vampire lord.
The bullet passes through him and strikes Dracula's servant, O'Brien.
Dracula pushes Hannibal out of a two-story window.

King gets up and goes back inside, but Dracula is gone. He interrogates O'Brien
and asks him about his latest shipping manifest - specifically, the destination of a wooden coffin.

O'Brien tells him that one was shipped to a warehouse in Kensington.

Hannibal goes to the warehouse and finds Dracula as well as several of his followers.
He fights off each of the vampires, sending most of them to their final reward.
Dracula hears police sirens in the distance, and realizes that he doesn't have time to fool around with King any longer.

The following evening, Hannibal meets again with Adrianne Walters.
He tells her everything that he learned, and explains that Dracula killed her husband to cover up
the paper trail concerning the exportation of his various coffins. Adrianne leaves,

without ever learning the true reason why Hannibal King knows so much about vampires. He is a vampire.
