Yep, this band is dead in the water. Your comeback gig ended up being the center or a bombing :/ Here's hoping she makes Man-Wolf pay hard for it.

Well, look at how Ariana Grande reacted to that. She staged this massive benefit concert that aired on TV. ITV even moved the Britain's Got Talent final to avoid a clash.

So did they ever address the MJ x Gwen thing in this new series?
Read Ghost Spider 9.
spoilers:end of spoilers
This chapter was...mixed. On the one hand it was pretty damn awesome the way Gwen managed to use her symbiote's tracker spiders and the fight with Man-Wolf was decent. OTOH Man-Wolf was dealt with way too quickly despite being set up issues beforehand and it's kinda obvious that the reason for that is cause Gwen's part-timing to 616 and can't have any lingering baddies, except Miles Warren slinking in the shadows. So in the end we got the guy being set up as the next Matt Murderdock being beaten in one fight after only having done one (albeit massive) thing.
The fight itself was the typical superhero fare, though it was hilarious when Gwen accused Man-Wolf of being a furry and defended herself by saying that the Spider thing was a theme, not a fursona. I also loved how when Man-Wolf goes 'aren't you curious about how I got my powers and my evil backstory?' Gwen just webs his mouth shut and tells him to talk to the cops cause she doesn't care. Way satisfying after too many villains whining about how they had bad childhoods and that justifies their bullshit.
The relationship with the cops is also interesting. To get info on Man-Wolf Gwen actually breaks into a police building to access their database. A cop catches her and, while initially tense, when Gwen explains herself the cop helps her get the info so she can take down Man-Wolf for what he did. It's a really nice touch and it's a shame we likely won't be seeing more of it since she's gonna be doing the majority of her heroing in 616.
Gwen also interrogates the criminals who work for Man-Wolf. In a surprising moment of decency when they try to pull the 'you can't torture us you're a hero' and Gwen tells them about the bombed concert one of the thugs actually gets surprised and asks if people are okay, indicating that at least he wasn't in on the plan.
The theme of 'you can't do this cause you're a hero' extends to the end of the fight with Man-Wolf since when he claims they're just the same - monsters - she counters that if he goes after her loved ones again he'll wish she was a monster, cause monsters end things. The implication being that she'll do the usual 'you'll wish for death' response if he ever tries anything again.
The ending where she visits Harry is nice since, finally, MJ has stopped being a bitch and acts a supportive friend again. Here's hoping she doesn't revert once more cause Gwen's not seeing her flirtations. I'm curious how they'll end this run and hopefully Ghost Spider 1 the relaunch works out well. Gwen's really at a low point and says outright that 'Death loves Gwen Stacy', though by the end with the support of her loved ones Gwen adds 'Gwen Stacy loves her people'.
And again this makes her decision to go to 616 really fucking weird. With her friends being caught in the bombing why would she take even more time away from them? Is she hoping distance will keep them safe or something?
On a side note, when Man Wolf is being fought he mentions 'better heroes than you have tried' to beat him. Who? Literally all we've seen are Gwen, Captain America and Wasp (retired). Seems like this earth is barren of supers so this line is odd.
Good point at the end there.

There's also Falcon, who is a male clone of the female Cap. And SHIELD Commander Peggy Carter, who has Nick Fury's powers (basically, eternal youth). Wolverine and Shadowcat exist, but like Daredevil, they're villains. The Fantastic Four don't have their powers, the Avengers aren't a team (and I would imagine that the Champions and New Warriors aren't a thing either). She-Hulk doesn't have her powers either. We don't know the status of most other X-Men, Avengers, and Champions.

Gwen's beta outfit from Marvel Action: Spider-Man.
...And she's not wearing gloves. What is it with teen heroes wanting to leave their fingerprints everywhere?
So true. Kamala doesn't wear gloves either, and she's usually very protective of her secret identity.
And it's not just teens. Superman doesn't wear gloves!

It's bad enough when The Flash, a forensic scientist, does this in the movies...although even Catwoman, worlds greatest thief, had finger-less gloves in the Telltale games .
(Don't you just love how characters are able to conveniently find civilian clothes that match their comic colors?)
Robin in Arkham City too. Notably both Telltale and Rocksteady took this into account and when they appeared in the next games the fingerless gloves are gone.
Still, this Gwen definitely seems more hot-headed and in your face than the usual ones. I'm for it, mostly cause it looks like she's having fun rather than angsting about dead Peters and narrating that 'Death Loves Gwen Stacy'. She contrasts pretty well with Miles (cautious Spidey) and Peter (experienced and more heroic Spidey).
My God, this freaking cover:
Gwen's getting a handful of that Spider thigh. Speaking of Gwen, there's a possible reference to her on Jessica Jones S3:
Apparently no matter the dimension, Bodega Bandit is the worst.
It was a quick blink and you will miss it but it's nice to get a obscure shoot out to a character (plus a writer acknowledges in his/her own ways a character). That or it wasn't a shout out but just by chance "Bodega Bandit" was used.
Also for the Gwen Stacy in the Marvel Action: Spider-man Gwen wore fingerless gloves only in that one panel. Next issue she has her Spider-Woman costume on plus gloves when she went forth crime fighting and getting pictures.
For this version Peter, Miles, and Gwen have been teamed up first for the new newspaper class where each hopes to win in order to meet Tony Stark. Unknown to each of them at first for the general same reasoning. Gwen wants to meet Tony to gain some advice into being a better superhero as she acknowledges that with her being a superhero also means she is a vigilante and if she gets outed her father being a respectable captain will pay the price.
Later we discovered that Tony setup the class and the prize to lure the three in. He also made arrangements so the three teens would meet each other, form a team, and help each other instead (and stop bugging him).
