"Of Lies and Legends"
The Golden City of Shamballah, Tara's kingdom. This majestic land reminds Jon of a mystical place his Grandfather often talked about, home, the true home Jon never knew - Krypton. But things aren't always as they appear. With the audience of the King himself, who happens to be Tara's father, Princess Tara embellishes on Jon's dashing bravery that allowed them to escape peril from Lizard-Men, Hobgoblins and a poison typhoon, all to return her safely to the throneroom. (The truth is Tara's savage sword saved Jon more than a few times, but that would never do for a Princess in this court, so she plays the damsel and makes the boy out a legendary hero.) The King then honors young Jon with a sword from his own armory, one he claims he has been holding for such an occasion, a sword that was waiting for its rightful wielder, for it was foretold to him that one day a mysterious visitor would arrive from a faraway land, and that he and this sword would save the kingdom from a great evil. But the sword is missing it's stone, as it was entrusted to the King this way years ago, a placeholder is set deep in the handle for a gem that legend says will make this sword the strongest ever forged. For Jon to fulfill the prophecy, and be the true hero of legend, he must find the gem. After the festivities, Tara takes Jon away from the eyes of the city, to show her true warrior nature and train him in hunting and combat, for if he is to carry that sword, he at least should learn how to use it. But there will be no time for knightly mastery, as in the distance Jon and Tara see Shamballah is under attack! Arm yourself Jon Kent, and climb on the nearest pterodactyl or sabretooth...we have a kingdom to save!
Meanwhile, back in Metropolis, Lois Lane grows worried. Not only has Superman gone missing, but now her "son" is nowhere to be found, or his grandfather, and with no sign of Superboy on the news, that means he isn't off doing Super Hero-y things. Lois turns to Jimmy Olsen, who has plenty of free time these days, to help in the search. Jimmy suspects that Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred, or his adopted son, Damian, might provide them a clue. What makes him think that asks Lois. Just a hunch.....
