Thing is, they have no idea what Nate can and can't do - having him control Legion would theoretically give him infinite powers.

The Horsemen are arguably more predictable (though they probably do have some power-up), but given that the X-men don't actually want to hurt Storm, and probably don't really want to hurt the other 3 all that much (They are all brainwashed, and not to blame for their current actions) it probably complicates things.

I'm fine with reading into stuff in order to salvage some enjoyment, but the writers did not bother with any of that. We are looking at Angel shooting metal blades at Magneto. Maybe that is the artist fault? Dunno. I would not be surprised if there was a plan and this is yet again another distraction, but at least have the X-Men show some amount of competency in getting whooped.

Look, regarding THAT scene, I'm fairly certain the Writers instructions to the Artist were basically "They Fight".
I don't think the Artist gave too much thought into it.

Well given that, at this point, they have no less than 6 telepaths, you’d think that they would pool their powers to at least attempt to shut down at least one of the horsemen. It’d be a bit more forgivable if we got at least a line of dialogue that Nate is blocking them from doing that but instead we got nothing so they don’t get the benefit of the doubt especially in the final issue of a storyline.

Question - what would shutting down just one horsemen do ?
They X-men had however much time the Kids bought them to deal with Nate on his own, and they could just about distract him long enough for Pixie to be able to teleport out ?
This is Nate, on his own, without all 4 horsemen.

Now they are facing all 4 Horsemen + Nate.
I doubt using their Telepaths - who probably are needed to keep Nate from just shutting them all down with a thought - Just to neutralize ONE Horsemen would get much of a result.

Betsy pretty much stated their strategy in issue 6 - Focus on taking down Nate and the Horsemen would probably fall.

Only the villain telepaths are allowed to show how really dangerous telepaths can be.

For starters, it neutralizes up to 4 threats trying to kill them which puts them in better standing than now. Also last issue did show that Nate can be distracted from affecting those in the battle with a small distraction and that was before an entire force showed up.

They have to take down Nate first even if they have his Horsemen to deal with because He can just replace one of his numbers with one of theirs.

I missed the part where he could only have 4 Horsemen.

The art isn't as strong as previous issues. Not really a great way to end this story.

The fights still seem to be lackluster. No creativity, and no evidence of them using their powers in tandem with one another. I still wish more teamwork was displayed, but it is what it is.

Which is exactly why bringing in more people is stupid. But if it can keep him occupied, it may stop him from converting more.

I think you mean Extermination - that's the one where everyone got turned into Hounds.
